Usually saves his best for the AW but not disgraced last time out when second at Salisbury. Probably enjoyed the firm ground on that occasion and he may not get those conditions here.
Very inconsistent sort who has finished one from last on each of his last two starts. Can miss the break and that can do for your chance around here; could struggle yet again.
Winner in soft conditions at Bath last year and trainer improves these sorts as they get older so there should be more to come this year. Yard in great form and interesting runner if ready to go on his return to action.
Looked progressive last year before he was well beaten on his final start. Should bounce back from that and any softening of conditions would be a bonus. Interesting runner.
Useful dual purpose campaigner who appears to be on a lenient mark and still improving. Fit from racing over hurdles at Aintree last month and should go well once again. Jockey booking an obvious positive.
Beaten favourite last time but remains low mileage. Any rain that comes would aid his cause and he's one of the more interesting runners.
Still a maiden after 11 starts but went close last time at Windsor when headed on the line. Should enjoy the nature of this track if he can get over to the rail and leading claims if he can build on that effort last time.
Well beaten on all recent starts and unplaced in his last nine. Almost exclusively raced here in recent times but needs the first-time cheekpieces to bring out a career best.
Tends to struggle off this sort of mark and not scored on the turf since 2015. Disappointing on her last three runs but has a nice draw and a jockey who rides this course well.
Bounced back to form last time out at Chelmsford but this is no doubt tougher and has to race from 4lb higher here despite the narrow margin of his victory.
Forecasts
Emperor Napoleon (5/2), Byron Flyer (5/2), Jaameh (11/2), Sir Valentine (7/1), Snowy Dawn (11/1), Gabrial's King (16/1), Sunblazer (16/1), The Otmoor Poet (16/1), Rowlestone Lass (20/1), Nabhan (40/1)
Emperor Napoleon looks capable of going well on his return to action but SIR VALENTINE makes most appeal after a progressive looking season last year. Byron Flyer is another to be feared and he's fit from a recent spin over hurdles and should give a good account.
- Sir Valentine
- Emperor Napoleon
- Byron Flyer
