Kodiac colt who cost £18,000 as a two-year-old and is related to several winners. Doesn't go for the most prolific of connections in terms of juvenile or first time out winners, but a market check is still advised.
Beaten favourite at Chepstow last time on ground that may prove to have been a little bit softer than ideal, and may well have gone much closer if not racing so keenly in the early stages. Big chance once again if able to settle better.
Reckless Abandon colt from a family of relatively little account on the dam's side, and going for a yard not associated with particular success with juveniles. Would rate a surprise winner on debut.
Didn't enjoy a perfect trip on debut at Kempton, when beaten 11L by an odds-on favourite. Makes her first start on turf here and could do better with the benefit of that run, but will need to show more improvement than is perhaps feasible in order to hit the frame.
Shaped with encouragement on debut at Salisbury earlier in the month (5f, good to soft), when looking like she should come on plenty for the run. Top apprentice claims 3lb which helps, and she is a leading contender if overcoming a higher than ideal draw.
Finished well behind Mother of Dragons in a Windsor maiden on debut but showed marked improvement to be beaten only 3¾L last time at Brighton (though it was only a small field). Not totally ruled out for a place.
Beaten 11L into last at Kempton on debut when sent off at 40/1. Could prefer this surface on her first start on turf, but still seems unlikely to be up to a task of this nature.
Second in a good looking maiden at Windsor last month, where the winner went on to take the Lily Agnes Stakes at Chester, with the four also winning since. Travelled well that day and should have more to offer now in what looks to be an easier race.
Finished ninth on debut at Leicester earlier in the month when effectively blowing her chance through racing so keenly. Still an unlikely winner here, even if settling better for the lowest draw of all.
Forecasts
Mother of Dragons (4/5), May Remain (2/1), Alaskan Star (9/1), Pursuing The Dream (12/1), Devil Or Angel (16/1), Wild State (20/1), Firenze Rosa (25/1), Milchik (33/1), Butterfly Spirit (40/1)
The one who stands out on form here is MOTHER OF DRAGONS. This filly by Society Rock ran a nice race on debut, and was only beaten half a length by Yogi's Girl, who went on to win the Lily Agnes at Chester (one of the best early season juvenile races in the calendar). The fourth from that race has also franked the form since, and she can get off the mark here at the second attempt. May Remain is another who ran an eye-catching race last time out, when he was the beaten favourite but race too freely in the early stages, while Alaskan Star is by far the more interesting of the two newcomers.
- Mother of Dragons
- May Remain
- Alaskan Star
