Four time winner in the past but well held in three outings since joining this yard for 2017. Beaten 5½L over 6f on good ground when wearing a hood for the first time at Navan (good) a month ago and cheekpieces are tried today.

Only victory so far came in a two-year-old maiden at The Curragh (good) over 5f in September 2015. Well beaten on seasonal debut over that same C&D and entitled to have improved for that effort.

In decent form when finishing third four times in succession last summer/autumn. Disappointed on his final start of 2016 at Dundalk and well held over 7f at The Curragh (good) earlier this month.

Failed to win in five starts for Dermot Well and held on both outings since joining current stable. Handicap mark is coming down as a result and not written off just yet.

Failed to win in 17 starts since successful over C&D on good-to-firm ground in August 2014. Beaten ½L by a progressive rival over 5f at Naas (good-to-firm) at the start of the month and ran well when beaten 3L in a competitive event at The Curragh (good) subsequently.

Winner by a nose off a 5lb higher mark at Bellewstown (yielding) over 5f in August last year. Best effort since came when third at Dundalk over 5f last month though has disappointed twice subsequently and needs to return to form to figure here.

Nose winner of a 20 runner handicap over 5f at The Curragh (good) earlier this month. Also finished runner-up at Navan (good) over the same distance this season and an interesting runner here following a 5lb rise for that Curragh victory.

Registered his first success when winning a 19 runner 5f handicap at Navan (good) a month ago. Run well in four starts since including when beaten 1¼L into third over 6f at Cork (good) last week. Likely to run well again today.

Winning for the second time in his career when successful over an extended 6f at Limerick (soft) in October. Beaten ¾L into second when attempting to follow up over 7f at the same course on yielding-to-soft five days later and making his seasonal debut today.

Lightly raced filly who put in a career best effort when runner-up at 100/1 in a six runner contest on the AW over 5f at Dundalk earlier this month. Quicker ground predicted here may suit better than on previous turf starts and makes her handicap debut today.

Having his first run since being gelded when finishing eighth behind Pillar over 5f at Navan (good) a month ago. Likely to have improved for that effort but more needed if he's to take this.

Forecasts

Sweetest Taboo (2/1), Shore Step (4/1), Pillar (5/1), Gopsies Daughter (8/1), A Likely Story (8/1), Olaudah (14/1), Piazzini (16/1), Jenniechild (16/1), Elegant Emmeline (22/1), Catwilldo (25/1), Count Of Carabass (33/1)

Verdict

PILLAR has been in decent form this season including when finishing third at Cork last time out. The selection finished behind today's rival Gospies Daughter at The Curragh prior to that and can get the better of that rival in what looks a competitive contest. Of the remainder Sweetest Taboo finished close up behind a progressive individual earlier this month and can claim third in this event.
