£33,000 yearling and making late headway after a slow start when seventh of twelve to Koditime at Doncaster last month. Likely sharper for that experience, but wouldn't want to be repeating that start at this track.

Stable generally in good form, but not renowned for juvenile winners. However, cost £60,000 as a two-year-old, and whilst bred for longer trips is worth a look in the market on her racecourse debut.

Well beaten on both her starts so far at Beverley and Leicester, so little reason to anticipate an improved showing today.

Made use of the experience gathered from her Beverley debut (moderate showing) when fifth of nine to Black Orange at Ripon on her second outing (better fancied stablemate second). Plenty of speed in her family, but possibly more of a type for nurseries in time.

Unraced Zoffany filly out of a fairly moderate Dam (Mexican Milly). Stable not prolific with juveniles and a surprise if she figures.

Beaten in excess of 4L when fourth on debut to Marchingontogether at Leicester recently (Hope And Glory represents that form-line in the opener), but hails from an up and coming stable. Respected on her second outing.
Stable has introduced some fair juveniles this term, and this unraced Excelebration filly out of Naomh Geileis is an interesting type on paper. A half-sister to winners Assault On Rome and Outbacker, she looks set to play a leading role in a moderate race.

11/4
Bumped into a Royal Ascot bound rival when runner up at Newcastle on debut in April, so a shade disappointing that she could only finish fourth on her second start at Beverley earlier this month. However, early days, and her front running style will prove suited to this track.

Forecasts

Rebel Assault (5/2), Thrifty (11/4), Magic Applause (7/2), Angel Force (6/1), Wirral Girl (6/1), Mayfair Rock (10/1), Kikini Bamalaam (14/1), Cathie's Dream (16/1), Mable Lee (25/1), Orient Princess (50/1), Dark Hedges (150/1)

Verdict

Probably not quite as competitive as Division 1, and whilst those with previous fair form include the likes of Thrifty, Magic Applause and Kikini Bamalaam, this looks a race set up for a newcomer. Mark Johnston had a couple of fair juvenile winners at Brighton recently, and his Excelebration filly Rebel Assault comes into contention, but the narrow vote goes to the Richard Fahey trained filly WIRRAL GIRL.
  1. Wirral Girl
  2. Thrifty
  3. Rebel Assault
