Best efforts have come on the AW. Ridden with more restraint last time when dropped in trip and there was little discernible improvement. Tongue-tie and cheekpieces now go on.

Half-brother to Showtime Start who is a sprint winner for the yard. Looked green on Catterick debut when down the field at long odds. May still need more time.

Related to winners including Shyron who has won seven races for the yard. Minor improvement last week when noted running on past beaten horses. Looks destined to win races in time but he looks below this level at present.

Bought for 38,000 guineas and comes from the first crop of top class sprinter Requinto. Half-sister to a Group placed middle-distance horse in Germany. Drops in trip having finished down the field at long odds in a couple of maidens and hard to fancy at present.

Bought for ÂŁ30,000 and is a half-sister to the speedy Galtymore Lad. Came wide and from a long way back when going down narrowly to a strongly fancied rival on debut. That form has worked out to a reasonable enough standard to make her the one to beat.

Cost 140,000 gns and looked promising on debut at Newbury. Shade disappointing next time when still looking green and likely the track did not suit. That was an above average maiden for Lingfield and impossible to rule her out with the yard's three-year-olds in such good form.

Forecasts

Cartographer (4/9), Kings Academy (4/1), Zilza (9/2), May Sky (6/1), Shyarch (33/1), Agnethe (50/1), Pastime (100/1)

Verdict

King's Academy has the highest BHA rating in this but it is likely that Cartographer and MAY SKY will prove better than that in time. Cartographer shaped well on her debut at Kempton when coming from a long way back to go down in a photo finish. She is sure to win races but gives away a fitness advantage to MAY SKY who has been green on both starts to date. She contested a hot race at Lingfield last time out when she seemed ill at ease on the track. This looks a more straightforward test and she is taken to open her account.
  1. May Sky
  2. Cartographer
  3. Kings Academy
