Gelded over the winter he did look progressive last season particularly on the AW despite the fact that he finished last at Doncaster on his final start of the year.
Former C&D winner last year off a 1lb lower than he runs off today and looked rather unlucky at Lingfield last time out failing to get a run and should enter calculations here.
Needs no introduction around here having won six times around the course and turned in a career best last time. This looks tougher off a 6lb higher mark but hard to totally write off.
Five-year-old who doesn't have that many runs under his belt and has looked promising on his last two starts at Wolverhampton. Back on turf but a likeable type and the mark is still workable.
The hood goes on for the first time after he disappointed on the AW last time and given a break after that run. One of two runners in here for the yard (first run for them here) and drops down in trip.
Overall looks to have something to find after his rather modest run at Nottingham last time when wearing a hood for the first time.
Yard are going well and one of the very consistent types that they appear to produce and has the advantage of being a three-time C&D winner. Brings winning form in here after a recent Lingfield victory although a 5lb rise demands more of her but her C&D form must be respected.
Up in trip for his handicap debut having taken the runner-up slot in his first two races in maidens but finished last on his final start in that sphere. Would need to show improved form to take a hand.
The losing run is starting to extend although he has won here over slightly shorter and didn't really show much at Bath last time on his return from hurdling.
Had some fair form as a juvenile but hasn't shown much since and is still a maiden albeit a lightly-raced one. Cheekpieces go on for the first time.
Forecasts
Deep Challenger (4/1), Bridge Of Sighs (4/1), Roy Rocket (5/1), Becca Campbell (5/1), Rubensian (6/1), Invictus (9/1), Galinthias (16/1), Ban Shoof (18/1), Impressive Day (25/1), Gannicus (25/1)
One of the better races on the card with the prolific C&D winner Roy Rocket of obvious interest although with his mark going up still further he will need to improve again. Bridge Of Sighs is another who handles this track well and along with the consistent Becca Campbell is respected although the vote goes to DEEP CHALLENGER who runs off a decent mark back on turf.
- Deep Challenger
- Bridge Of Sighs
- Roy Rocket
