Gelded prior to winning a handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) in January despite drifting across the track, and again looked less than straightforward when fifth at Lingfield last time. Claims if staying longer trip, but his quirks make him slightly risky.
Quite stoutly bred, but failed to improve for step up to this sort of trip at Beverley on his return/handicap debut. Does at least drop into a weaker grade of race here, so ought to do better.
Expensive purchase from family of Nunthorpe winner Kingsgate Native. Best effort in maidens when seventh of 16 to Valcartier over 1m at Nottingham in April. Not so good since, but type to progress now handicapping, and no surprise to see him go well at this level.
Lost his way for Ed Dunlop, but slightly better signs when 6 lengths third of 9 to Bartholomew J in 10f handicap at Yarmouth for new yard. On a lenient mark on pick of his form, but needs to show he can build on latest effort.
Hails from a good middle-distance family, and claims on form he showed when third at Musselburgh last July. Below form after that, but has been gelded since last seen, and may yet build on earlier promise.
Slow to learn for Marco Botti last season, but improved for step up to this trip when runner-up in a Chelmsford nursery in October. Cheekpieces worn there missing on debut for new yard, and needs to prove herself on turf, but should do better still, and shortlisted.
Showed some ability in 2-y-o maidens for Tom Dascombe, but failed to find any improvement in nurseries, and plenty to prove having switched yards since last season.
Aqlaam half-brother to 1¼m winner Iftiraaq. Hasn't shown much in a trio of 7f/1m maidens to date, but goes handicapping at a lowly level, and should be more competitive upped in trip
From a successful family, but only beat one rival in three starts last year for Sir Mark Prescott (in headgear each time), and sold for minimum bid at auction subsequently.
Half-sister to several winners, but she hasn't beaten a solitary rival in maidens, and makes little appeal on form. Booking of Silvestre de Sousa does take the eye, however.

Forecasts
Nigh Or Never (2/1), Clenymistra (6/1), Regal Mirage (13/2), Steel Helmet (7/1), Beepeecee (7/1), Permanent (10/1), Oceanus (12/1), Four Kingdoms (12/1), Sai Kung Star (20/1), Hazy Manor (25/1), Single Estate (40/1)
A few of these are capable of leaving modest maiden form behind, none more than NIGH OR NEVER, whose penultimate run suggested he would be better than his opening mark, while Clenymistra also appeals starting out for David O'Meara. Permanent didn't progress last year, but is a scopey sort who may yet do better.
