Drops in grade after a few lacklustre efforts and now looks very well handicapped on the best of her form. Has come good around this time of the year before and with trip and likely ground fine, too well handicapped to write off.

Has some quality novice hurdle form that makes her look well handicapped here, but in truth has been a bit disappointing on her last couple of starts (including a defeat at odds-on) and has a bit to prove now.

Didn't appear to get this trip when tried over it here in early April, so that has to be a concern, but on the plus side, yard going very well and ground shouldn't be an issue. Still needs to prove stamina though, and others make more appeal.

Definitely has her quirks but knows how to win when the mood takes her, and has twice run well here recently, winning in April and then another solid effort a month later. Change of headgear might keep her interested and with conditions to suit, can go close.

Totally outclassed at Cork on latest start (in December), but earlier second over this C&D is solid form (winner an improving sort) and is only 2lb higher here. Poor strike rate overall is a concern and may need this after a break. Chances, but comes with risks.

Yard in flying form now and this one gives the impression she's got more races in her. A staying-on fourth over a trip too short at Haydock latest and won't mind any rain here either. This trip more suitable and she's high on the shortlist for this.

Forecasts

Western Sunrise (11/4), Fille Des Champs (3/1), Robinesse (3/1), Lilywhite Gesture (5/1), Midtech Valentine (13/2), Fresh By Nature (7/1), Grape Tree Flame (14/1)

Verdict

With Evan Wiliiams' yard now going so well after a mediocre spring, it might be time to give FILLE DES CHAMPS another try. Conditions look ideal for her here and she's taken to get the better of Grape Tree Flame , who tends to find a bit of form around this time of the year, and Lilywhite Gesture. The enigmatic Fresh By Nature can never be written off either.
  1. Fille Des Champs
  2. Grape Tree Flame
  3. Lilywhite Gesture
