In cracking form since joining his current yard and is now on a very stiff mark. Career best required to defy a 5lb higher mark today but is thriving just now and looks the one to beat.
Paid his way on numerous occasions for his previous yard but also managed to run way above expectations to make the frame in a Listed race at Doncaster on the opening day of the season. Disappointing last time out and needs to quickly banish that memory. Soft ground won't help his cause though.
Left Godolphin after an unsuccessful spell last season and difficult ascertain how much ability he retains. Best watched on his first start for his new yard.
Has a series of excellent efforts to his name but was way below his best at Haydock last week and is best watched until he shows something like his old self.
May carry the weight of expectation given his illustrious owners but the fact remains he has been out of form and the recent switch in yards seems to have done little to stop the rot.
Put together a nice little sequence and the fact he is being kept busy suggests he is thriving just now. Remains to be seen how much his exertions at York took out of him on Thursday, but he is in with a big shout if he runs to the same level here.
Highest previous winning mark of 79 leaves him with plenty to find with the likes of Edward lewis and Orient Class in their current form and may be best watched on his first outing since October.
Forecasts
Edward Lewis (2/1), Orient Class (11/4), Jack Dexter (11/2), Kickboxer (6/1), Pipers Note (8/1), Independence Day (12/1), Ladweb (20/1)
This revolves around EDWARD LEWIS and Orient Class. The former has been a revelation since joining his current yard and, as he has enjoyed a slightly longer recovery period after his last start, he edges preference this time around. Pipers Note and Jack Dexter are capable of figuring at this level but both have a little to prove just now. The first-named ran well in a Listed race at Doncaster's Lincoln meeting and can also go close if the ground doesn't stop him running to a similar level.
- Edward Lewis
- Orient Class
- Pipers Note
