Purchased for £35,000 as a yearling and ran well when finishing fifth over 5f at Redcar (good-to-firm) on debut last month. Likely to have improved for the experience and worth noting here.
Beaten 2½L when finishing third of five over 5f at Doncaster (good-to-firm) on his debut earlier this month. Likely to play a leading role in this contest for a yard who have had three two-year-old winners already this season.

Forecasts

Unfortunately (13/8), Story Minister (4/1), Crown Of Cortez (6/1), Marnie James (15/2), Armed Response (15/2), Jive Lady (14/1), Bertie Wallace (18/1), Acromatic (18/1), Oriental Power (33/1), Lord Of The Glen (80/1)

Verdict

STORY MINISTER ran well when making his debut at Doncaster on good-to-firm ground last month and can go two better by taking this opening two-year-old contest. Tom Dascombe's juveniles have started 2017 well and the selection looks likely to have benefited for that debut experience and he can get the better of the unraced filly Jive Lady who is speedily bred and hails from a yard with a good strike-rate with their youngsters this year. Of the remainder Armed Response and Marnie James both ran well on debut while Unfortunately drops in grade today.
  1. Story Minister
  2. Jive Lady
  3. Armed Response
