A £42,000 yearling this Power colt is related to a 5f winner and should be capable of competing over this kind of trip. Represents leading yard and is to be respected.

Dandy Man colt whose overall pedigree suggests this trip might be a bit sharp, trainer not noted for performances of his 2yos.

Couple of fair efforts at Newbury and Doncaster already in the book over this trip, could do with settling better but improvement on third start would have him in the mix.

Approve colt cost €22,000 as a yearling, yard tends to do ok with 2yos and is worth a market check for this debut run.

Bahamian Bounty colt cost €36,000 as a foal, 40,000 gns yearling, represents yard with close to 19 per-cent strike rate with 2yos over the previous 12 months.

Excelebration gelding is one to look out for on debut run and is bred for exactly this type of challenge.

Choisir gelding represents trainer that doesn't tend to have many 2yo runners, no surprise should he come on for this racecourse bow.

Nothing special on paper but does have winners in his bloodlines, last of four on recent debut at Bath over this trip on firm ground, sent off 66/1 and never any threat.

Assertive filly who cost £11,000 as a yearling and is a sister to winner up to 1m Go For Broke (2yo 6f winner) and 2yo 5f/6f winner Goldcrest. Stable have had some speedy juveniles through their hands over the years.

Yard have been quiet of late, filly has enough in breeding to suggest this trip will be within her comfort zone, best to watch betting before supporting for debut run.

Compton Place filly was beaten 4¾L over C&D on debut recently, showing plenty signs of greenness as she did. Entitled to come on for that run.

Forecasts

Headway (13/8), Gaelic Spirit (3/1), Jim Rockford (3/1), Bodybuilder (7/2), Luna Eclipse (15/2), Hastenplace (8/1), Zalshah (10/1), Joegogo (14/1), Youkan (20/1), Cabanon Bay (20/1), Reverberation (25/1), Vegas Boy (25/1), Devil Or Angel (40/1), Cranworth Phoenix (66/1)

Verdict

HEADWAY made a solid start at Newbury recently over this trip on decent ground and might well have got off the mark but for being a bit green, that form sets the standard here and any improvement will ensure he's tough to beat on second start. Luna Eclipse's trainer won this contest 12 months, amid a strike rate of 19 per-cent with 2yos so any support for the newcomer should be noted while Zalshah can improve from his Bath debut run and looks the more likely of the Hannon contenders here. Newcomer Bodybuilder is worth a look while Jim Rockford won't be far away if settling better on his third star.
  1. Headway
  2. Zalshah
  3. Luna Eclipse
