Form of the yard has tailed off a bit now and this gelding who cost €22,000 as a three-year-old may be one to look at in the longer term although there are some useful relations in the pedigree.
From a yard that has only had two bumpers runners in the last five years and this one is out of a dam who won over 5f on the Flat.
This yard are no stranger to training bumper winners hitting a 15% strike-rate over the past five years. This one is one of only two that have had a previous run here but could well put that experience to good use having run a solid fourth on his debut at Perth where he had the run of the race but stuck on well in a race that contained two last time out winners.
We might finally get to see him after he's been declared a non-runner on three occasions now (the latest on Saturday night here). Makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and wasn't cheap as he cost €110.000 as a three-year-old and from a yard that do well in this sphere.

Breeding suggests that he will need time and that was backed up by the evidence of his first run at Wetherby where he showed very little and finished well held.
On jockey bookings the second string of this yard that have a good record in bumpers. Cost €54,000 as a three-year-old with the dam being an unraced half-sister to the top-class chaser Golden Silver.
Rare runner in bumpers for this yard (0/4 in last five seasons). Dam was lightly raced in bumpers and others make more appeal on pedigree and stable form.

Her young trainer has proved well worth following so far and has already had a winner in bumpers from six runners. This King's Theatre mare is a half-sister to four winners with the dam winning all her three starts over hurdles. Given the trainer and pedigree she is worth watching in the market.

Just a modest stroke rate for this stable in bumpers (4%) and that tempers enthusiasm for this daughter of Buck's Bourn. There are some useful if unreliable relations in the pedigree so she is worth watching in the market although the stable record in this sphere could be better.

Forecasts

Rhaegar (6/4), Cuddles Mcgraw (4/1), Ifandabut (9/2), Ragged Wood (9/2), El Presente (5/1), King's Reste (7/1), Diva Du Maquis (25/1), Just Another Vodka (25/1), Grace Dont Wait (50/1), Birch Bank (66/1)

Verdict

The Kim Bailey yard are well represented here and it could well be the expensive Rhaegar at last gets to make an appearance although his stable mate El Presente was cheap either and give the yard a good 1-2 punch here. Others of interest in what looks a decent bumper for the track are Cuddles Mcgraw and King’s Reste but there was plenty to like about the debut run of RAGGED WOOD and he may well be able to put his experience to good use here especially if he gets another positive ride.
  1. Ragged Wood
  2. Cuddles Mcgraw
  3. King's Reste
