Derby entrant who was an easy winner of a backend maiden. Runner-up scored subsequently and yard are having an excellent year with this age group. One to note in the market.

Winner of a Doncaster maiden last season and better handicapped now than for his last two starts. Still appears vulnerable to some of the less exposed types.

Stepped up from an inauspicious debut to win a Newbury maiden. That looked a weaker than an average race for the track but a Group Two entry at Royal Ascot suggests connections believe he may be better than that form indicates.

Narrow winner of a track maiden which is not working out. Showed a willing attitude against more experienced rivals but this is going to require a lot more.

Upset a hot favourite on Thirsk debut and was given an intelligent ride. Showed an impressive turn of foot to score without really knowing he had a race and he could turn out to be useful. Bred to do better over this longer trip and jockey/rider combination took this two years ago.

Winner of two races over the Southwell before failing to justify support at Epsom last time. Those races were over a mile but, having lost on the nod over this trip at Bath in October, there is good cause to believe those losses could be recovered.

Got up late to score at Newcastle on debut but failed to be as competitive next time after another slow start. First run on turf for a yard with a modest 3-35 record here.

Improved for his debut effort with an easy win at Kempton when well-backed. Missed the break on both his starts to date would have to be a concern though and level of his form may be a level below what is required. Stable had a winner here last week.

Has missed the break on both starts. Overcame that handicap to beat a subsequent winner at Lingfield on his debut. Sent off favourite at Nottingham but was eased and finished last having found nothing under pressure. The stewards enquired into that run and connections were at a loss to explain the performance. The vet found no abnormalities and he may be best treated with caution until proving his wellbeing.

Form of his maiden victory leaves him with something to find at the weights. Return to action reinforced that view but trainer is always to be feared with these types.

Best form has been shown with some give underfoot so further rain would greatly assist. Met trouble in running on seasonal bow when apprentice ridden. Blinkers are now applied.

Verdict

Eight of the last ten winners of this had run within the previous 28 days. With that in mind SECRET ADVISOR could be the answer to a race packed full of promising types. His trainer and jockey teamed up for a winner here last week and this son of Dubawi must have exceeded expectations when making a successful debut at Thirsk. He picked off a hot favourite with ease whilst displaying a blistering turn of foot and despite his pedigree suggesting that trip was on the sharp side. He could turn out to be something special and he does hold Group Two entries at Royal Ascot. Should the ground turn soft then Fastnet Spin could repay each-way support. Vantage Point is interesting now stepping up in trip having been a costly failure over a mile last time. Crowned Eagle represents a stable in cracking form and his future entries suggest he may be better than a handicapper.
