Unraced gelded son of Gamut purchased for €17,000 as a three-year-old in 2015. Half-brother to It Wasn't Us, placed over hurdles. Yard have a 17% strike-rate (38-225) in bumpers in recent years but that drops to just 1-15 at this course.
Top jockey makes the journey from Haydock for this one ride. Chances are not obvious based on his point-to-point form.
French-bred £10,000 purchase ran well enough at Huntingdon on his debut to suggest he might be a contender in this. Stable are 4-66 in bumpers over the past five seasons.

From the first crop of the top-class stayer Geordieland out of a mare who won five races. Stable 1-49 in bumpers.

€44,000 buy who is closely related to Mischievous Millie and Robinesse who have won for the yard. Stable 8-91 in this discipline over the past five seasons but their horses have been struggling to perform for quite some time.
Weak in the market when down the field at Stratford six weeks ago. Not unduly knocked about once his chance had gone and could improve significantly given yard are 6-20 in bumpers here.
Son of Kalanisi purchased for just €5,000 at the sales last August. Dam a maiden after six career outings. Fourth here on debut and the third has won since.

Forecasts

Paddy Boss (7/4), Jersey Bean (9/4), Supakalanistic (9/2), Another Crick (7/1), Rhaegar (8/1), Pyrios (9/1), Diminpete (10/1), Dassett Gold (14/1), The Real Scorpion (20/1), Ruby Taylor (33/1)

Verdict

Those with previous experience have not shown enough to suggest they would not be vulnerable to one of the newcomers. Paddy Boss and Jersey Bean both represent yards with good records in this class of race but RHAEGAR is the debutant that makes the most appeal having been a late withdrawal on two occasions lately. Connections are obviously leaving nothing to chance for this expensive purchase who has been waiting for decent ground. Paddy Boss is worth noting in the market but Jersey Bean represents a yard that have suffered several disappointments lately. Of those that have run previously Supakalanistic probably achieved most when fourth in a race that is already beginning to work out. Another Crick is interesting on account of jockey booking and having made his debut in what looked a a good race at Southwell.
  1. Rhaegar
  2. Supakalanistic
  3. Another Crick
