Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: R Ffrench| T: Steph Hollinshead| OR:  85
50/1
Four-times winner who has not been at her best in recent outings. Won a C&D handicap last August, but has much more to do in Listed company and was behind a couple of these at Bath last time.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: F Sweeney| T: H Candy| OR:  92

Has raced only four times over two seasons, but has already shown a decent level of form. Respected trainer does particularly well with his sprinters, so it is interesting he pitches this filly into this grade on her return.

Buying Trouble22
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: J F Egan| T: P D Evans| OR:  96

Only two successes have come on the AW, but she has been in the frame in Listed events at Ayr, Naas and Newmarket and is entitled to respect on those efforts.

Evil Spell22
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-3| J: Oisin Murphy| T: R M H Cowell| OR:  99
20/1
Ex-Italian mare who was placed in a Group 3 contest on heavy ground for her previous trainer in November. Had her first start for her new trainer when fifth of 13 in a Listed event at Bath and can be expected to come on for the race.

Futoon22
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: Joe Doyle| T: K A Ryan| OR:  89
20/1
Ran a blinder to be runner-up in the Bath race in which Evil Spell was fifth. That was a step up on her previous efforts and if she can reproduce it she has every chance in this,

Imtiyaaz22
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-3| J: Martin Lane| T: R Varian| OR:  89
18/1
Behind Futoon when third at Bath, but did not get the clearest of runs on that occasion and had finished in front of that rival over this trip at Newmarket in October. There should be little between the pair again.

Iseemist22
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-3| J: Joey Haynes| T: J Gallagher| OR:  92

Another to run in the Bath race, she made some late headway to finish sixth. Hard to see her turning the tables with all who beat her in that race.

Lady Macapa22
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: A Kirby| T: C G Cox| OR:  97
3/1
Less exposed than some of these and took a decent-looking Goodwood handicap for William Knight towards the end of last season. Ran well for her new trainer when third at Newbury on her reappearance and, over an extra furlong and with improvement on the cards, looks a strong contender.

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-3| J: P Makin| T: M S Saunders| OR:  86
25/1
Fair handicapper who ran a good race at Epsom last time. On a long, losing run, however, and her form leaves her with plenty to find.

Rural Celebrationv184
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-3| J: D Nolan| T: K A Ryan| OR:  84
50/1
Decent sprinter for David O'Meara last season, she has her first run of the campaign for another respected yard. Needs to find improvement on official ratings, and may come on for the outing.

Spring Fling177
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-3| J: T J Murphy| T: H Candy| OR:  94
20/1
Solid performer who won at Haydock in September before finishing a creditable fourth in a Listed event at Newmarket, with Imtiyaaz, Futoon and Pixeleen behind. This is her first run after a lay-off but, like stable companion Bounce, she is respected.

Artistica26
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: S Hitchcott| T: D Moser
33/1
German raider who has won two of her four starts and was impressive when winning by more than 5L on her reappearance last month. Hard to equate the form with that of the English fillies, but she is presumably not here for the benefit of her health and has to be factored into the equation.

Glitter Girl21
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: B A Curtis| T: W J Haggas| OR:  100
9/2
Showed some decent form last year, winning on three occasions and finishing runner-up in two decent races at the end of the season. Well held in a Group 3 1,000 Guineas trial at Newbury on her return, while the drop to 6f is not guaranteed to suit.

Mystic Dawn21
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: L Morris| T: D M Simcock| OR:  100
8/1
One place ahead of Glitter Girl at Newbury, she may well be happier over this shorter trip judged on her 2yo efforts which included a good third in a Listed race at Newmarket in October. One for the short list.

Pichola Danceb121
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: Harry Bentley| T: R Varian| OR:  93

One turf and one AW win to her credit in six outings, but all of them came over 7f and she races over shorter here. Behind Mystic Dawn and Glitter Girl at Newbury and wears blinkers for the first time, presumably in an attempt to find extra pace over this trip.

Ran four times as a juvenile, improving for each outing and winding up with wins at Windsor and Yarmouth. Has yet to reach the heights of some of her rivals, but it is unlikely we have seen the best of her and she is strongly considered on her return to action.

Forecasts

Lady Macapa (3/1), Glitter Girl (9/2), Tropical Rock (6/1), Mystic Dawn (8/1), Bounce (9/1), Imtiyaaz (18/1), Futoon (20/1), Buying Trouble (20/1), Evil Spell (20/1), Pichola Dance (20/1), Spring Fling (20/1), Pixeleen (25/1), Iseemist (25/1), Artistica (33/1), Tallulah Rose (33/1), Rural Celebration (50/1), Belledesert (50/1)

Verdict

A fascinating fillies' sprint in which some proven older campaigners take on the Classic generation. Glitter Girl and Mystic Dawn have the best form among the 3yos and the latter looks the more likely over this 6f. Bounce, Evil Spell and Lady Macapa are older contenders to consider, but in a wide-open contest, a chance is taken with TROPICAL ROCK. She was improving rapidly at the end of her juvenile campaign and may be able to take this rise in class in her stride.
  1. Tropical Rock
  2. Bounce
  3. Evil Spell
