Formerly with Richard Hannon he ran some fair races in turf maidens without really threatening to win and sent hurdling with his current yard. Only had one start in that sphere (respectable effort) and switched back to the Flat on the AW making his handicap debut. His yard do well with this type and he remains one to be interested in over staying trips.
Upped in trip to win on his handicap debut last year and continued his progression after that over slightly further in some good handicaps of a better quality than this one. Didn't quite appear to get home on his final start of 2016 over 1m6f and that leaves a doubt about the suitability of this trip now.
Unsurprisingly made a step forward when upped in trip to run over this C&D on his handicap debut although his opening mark looked a stiff one. Off all winter his return was a disappointment as he had the run of the race in a Bath handicap but weakened out of things quickly. The handicapper isn't giving him much respite and he still looks on a tough mark.
Has looked to be going the wrong way for his previous yard (tricky customer) but given a break his won first time up for his current yard on the AW at Wolverhampton over this trip. Followed up that win in even better style over the same C&D travelling well and not looking anything like awkward in the finish. Struggled to overcome the rise in the weights returned to turf last time out and only eased a 1lb here.
From a yard that has really found it's mojo in the past week or so this one was successful on his first start last season. Failed to really back that run up and disappointed on his first run this year at Doncaster despite being back on his last winning mark. The handicapper now drops him another 2lb to give him a chance but he does need to show a bit more zip overall.
More likely to be seen over obstacles (winning chaser last summer) and not seen over jumps since falling at Cartmel last August. Looked to need the run on his sole Flat start last year at this course over shorter and likely to need the run again here.
Has been hurdling of late (yet to win in that sphere) but did win a much lower grade contest around here last September over 1m4f off a mark of 65. Ran a couple of solid races after that but this is a tougher grade than the one he usually runs in and although he won't lack for fitness some of these might have too much class for him.

Forecasts
Jaameh (9/4), Lexington Law (11/4), Opposition (11/4), Monjeni (3/1), Zenafire (11/2), Braes Of Lochalsh (14/1), Togetherness (16/1), Fantasy King (25/1)
Opposition looks to be one who holds plenty of scope this year but the ground if it is on the quick side will be a worry having found that sort of surface finding him out last year. The trip is a doubt for Jaameh and he could be better over shorter with both Monjeni and Togetherness looking to be in the grip of the handicapper. Zenafire arrives here fit from hurdling and is one of the more interesting ones at a likely double-figure price. Alan King has his Flat performers in good fettle though and this contest looks a good opportunity for LEXINGTON LAW to get off the mark over a trip he should relish.
- Lexington Law
- Opposition
- Zenafire
