Has a career return of 2-22, his most recent win coming in this grade over a very stiff 2m1f at Pontefract in September (good to firm) from just 1lb lower than today. Yet to win when fresh and yard's inmates tend to improve for a run, though would be very interesting if supported.
Last three wins have all been over 1m2f, though has won over an extended 1m4f in the past. 4lb lower than when scoring at Pontefract in September. Only tried once over this sort of trip at York a couple of years ago and well beaten, so has stamina doubts to overcome.
1-24 career profile for this mare whose sole success was over 1m6f at Redcar in October from 4lb lower. Was runner-up over C&D from 5lb lower in a better race than this in August (good). Should strip fitter for recent pipe-opener but concern that conditions will be too quick for her as best runs have been on good or slower.
Remains a maiden after 34 starts, making the frame on 10 occasions, including all three runs for this yard during the past month. Sees out this trip well enough (runner-up from 4lb lower at Redcar recently) and arguably unexposed over it, so it tongue strap can help eek out a bit of improvement then he could take again take a hand.
All six career wins have been at around this trip, including in this race last year from 5lb higher (good). Added a further success at Newcastle on AW in January, though recent efforts uninspiring. Has won on good to firm, though mainly successful on good, while last two wins came under a claimer, as is the case today.
Thorough stayer who scored over C&D in August and added to that from 5lb higher over 2m2f at Pontefract in October. 3lb higher than that today and should benefit from her reappearance run. Conditions no problem and she should be competitive.

Forecasts
Mysterial (3/1), Medina Sidonia (7/2), Wishing Well (4/1), Rembrandt (9/2), La Fritillaire (5/1), Jan Smuts (10/1), Attention Seaker (10/1), Nashville (12/1)
Medina Sidonia has decent credentials ahead of this, but he has not yet won when fresh and while Tim Easterby is more than capable of readying one first time out, his inmates do usually benefit from a run. However, if supported he would be very interesting. La Fritillaire can get competitive, Rembrandt is not one to write off yet but does need to find a little more to win this, while Attention Seeker is another Great Habton runner who merits a market check on her return to the track after an absence. Preference, therefore, is for JAN SMUTS, who is a specialist at the trip, is 5lb lower than when taking this race last year and has benefited from having a claimer up for his last two wins.
- Jan Smuts
- Rembrandt
- La Fritillaire
