Won two of his first four starts as a juvenile, including the valuable Newbury Super Sprint, but has been unable to add to that, despite being gelded and switching yards. Unexposed over 6f and showed a little more at Chelmsford last time, so with a 2lb drop and a downgrade to this level he could again make an impact.
A winner of 4-42 races, the latest being over this trip at Pontefract (good to firm) in July from 5lb lower. Went close over this C&D from 1lb lower than today next time out and also from 2lb higher than today at Haydock (7f) next time. Well beaten in two runs this year, but distinct possibility of a return to form here.
Returns for another crack after winning this last year (good) from 5lb lower. That was from stall two and he also went well from a low draw over C&D last month, when winning the race in his group but just being collared by a runner on the other side of the track. Up 2lb for that but looks a major player.
Has done most of his winning in Yorkshire and that includes a C&D success in 2013 from 4lb lower. Has twice won from higher marks than today, including his latest success at Pontefract last summer. After a couple of runs to get him going this year, this ageing gelding should be ready to take closer order this time.
Has picked up a win in each of the last three seasons. all over 6f and two on good to firm ground. That is a good basis from which to go to war here and now that he is 1lb lower than when scoring at Thirsk a year ago in a tougher race than this. Yard not had a winner in May so far, but running reasonably well.
C&D winner (soft) in 2015 from 12lb lower, but improved in defeats after that and ended a losing run in a better race than this at Hamilton in September (6f, heavy, in cheek piece) from just 2lb lower than today. Should benefit from a recent return run at this track and goes well on fast ground. Very interesting.
Landed a Sandown maiden at the second time of asking in 2015 (1m, soft) when with Richard Hannon but left that trainer after just two more runs in 12 months. Went okay on his return run here and finished closer after a 4lb at Thirsk last time. On same mark today and can get competitive.

A typically competitive Ripon sprint is in prospect here, with STRAIGHTOTHEPOINT the suggestion. Bryan Smart's five-year-old has won and been a close second in his two visits here, remains unexposed and has a similar draw to those two previous runs at the track. Lathom is interesting now dropped in class and at a trip over which he is unexposed, while Explain is on a handy mark and Honeysuckle Lil is another who could be in the thick of it after winning a better contest than this last year and with the benefit of a recent run under her belt.
