11-race maiden, including a run over hurdles on his most recent start back in October. Tried at all sorts of trips and has done best at 1m1f-1m2f on a sound surface, such as when he made the frame at Doncaster in July from a mark of 51. Dropped in grade here but still looks up against it in first-time headgear.
Won over a similar trip at Haydock almost a year ago (good) from a mark of 72 when with Brian Ellison. Made the frame in one of these contests at Redcar in November but has slid 17lb after being thrashed in his last four starts in handicaps, the last two in first-time cheek pieces and then first-time visor. Tongue-strap now tried for this drop in grade.
Made the frame in a Wolverhampton maiden in February (7f) but no impression over this trip at Redcar or back over 7f in a Thirsk handicap last time from a mark of 51. Looks to have plenty on his plate at these weights.
0-17, though has made the frame six times, including when third in this race last year (good) and also in a Redcar seller. She was rated 5lb higher this time last year and looks to have a tougher task at these weights today.
Gelded earlier this year and ran well twice at Kempton (1m) on his first two subsequent runs, winning the latter from a mark of 57. Well held from 6lb higher last time and now switches to this grade for the first time. Stable does well here and is in good form, so and this gelding looks likely to have a say.
Didn't make it to the racecourse as a juvenile and then had four AW runs in quick succession in January and February, going close over 1m at Newcastle in maiden company. Dam won a claimer over this sort of trip and a fast ground handicap over 1m4½f, so the step up is probably a positive and he looks a leading player now dropped in grade.
Made an immediate impact on his handicap debut last year, winning over 7f at Musselburgh (good) from a mark of 62. Gelded after one more run but well beaten on both starts since and now dropped into a seller and with first-time visor added. Dam won over this trip, as did her half-sister, so portents good for a better effort.
Forecasts
Metronomic (5/4), Crindle Carr (9/4), Ray Donovan (5/1), Never Say (9/1), Clayton Hall (14/1), Calypso Delegator (28/1), Slaying The Dragon (50/1)
It will probably pay to concentrate on the bottom half of the racecard for this seller and CRINDLE CARR is suggested to get the better of Metronomic and Ray Donovan. All three make their first appearance in this basement grade and the selection is the least exposed of them, while this step up in trip looks a good move. The latter also applies to Ray Donovan, who could be a danger in the first-time visor, while Metronomic should also be capable of making an impact.
- Crindle Carr
- Ray Donovan
- Metronomic
