Carries a 6lb penalty for win at Roscommon over this trip on Monday, won with plenty in hand there however and claims again if not found out by third run in quick succession.

Is 7lb higher than when winning over 1m2f here last month, has since run credible race on turf at Limerick over just shy of this trip and should go well back on this surface.

Lightly-raced filly won a seller on good-to-firm ground at Goodwood in August, very disappointing in one run since over shorter trip at Bath in September. First run for new trainer and worth a check in the betting.

Is a previous C&D winner but four most recent runs have been alarmingly poor, did run somewhat better here in January but all things considered is hard to fancy.

Hasn't shown a lot in seven starts on the Flat, all on turf, to warrant suggestion he'll make a winning start on the Polytrack. Returns from six month break sporting first-time cheekpieces.

Doesn't win too often, most recently 14 runs ago in 2014, but was rattling home at Clonmel last week over shorter trip and has to have claims now off a 2lb higher mark if able to reproduce that.

Hadn't run for 567 days before credible 5L defeat over C&D three weeks ago, has won over this trip around here from this mark in the past so entitled to get much closer now if benefitting from that run.

A 14-race maiden, he was disappointing off this mark over C&D in March when last spotted and needs to produce much more to get in the firing line when it counts.

Mare has plenty to find on return from 258 days off based on what she has done in seven career runs so far.

Forecasts

Locus Standi (9/4), Bottleofsmoke (11/4), Trump Card (4/1), Mountmills (4/1), Manomine (14/1), Auld Brig (14/1), Spinning Pearl (16/1), Kalann (20/1), Montys Angel (66/1)

Verdict

Bottleofsmoke produced a career-best to score decisively at Roscommon earlier in the week and will stand every chance of a follow up despite a 6lb penalty if turning up in the same mood. It is duly noted that his trainer elects to come here quickly but this will be a third run in a week and that might undermine his chances, though he is the one to beat on that form. LOCUS STANDI won over a shorter trip here last month and showed enough in a turf run since off this higher mark to suggest he's going to be competitive again. Manomine may be able to grab a place ahead of Spinning Pearl and Mountmills.
  1. Locus Standi
  2. Bottleofsmoke
  3. Manomine
