Hasn't shown enough in two starts for two trainers, including here over 1m in January when beaten more than 17L, to merit support for this. Will have to improve significantly.

Gelding appears to hold just modest ability, beat only rival home over 7f at this track a year ago on sole AW run when sent off 66/1 in a maiden. Last spotted over hurdles in August, all to prove on this return.
New Approach colt comes to the track for the first time at four, wouldn't need to be any sort of world beater to collect this prize first time out.

Just the two starts so far, not improving when beaten 11L in a C&D maiden last month. Has to unearth something more with same claimer booked this time.

Sent off big prices and well held in three maidens in Britain for Dominic Elsworth, similar fat in mile maiden on turf at Navan in August when last spotted, foregoing plenty ground with a slow start. Need to break much sharper.

Not beaten far when fifth of seven in a claimer on turf at Clonmel last week, that was a weak contest (winner runs here in opening race) and probably needs to improve for the run to take this.

Forecasts

Clinical Approach (2/5), Lost History (4/1), Costa (10/1), Justice Ears (10/1), Bendigo Too (25/1), Albert Cashier (50/1)

Verdict

This looks to be a weak maiden, those with form unable to boast much of substance. Best of them may be Love History, though he was only fifth in a similarly poor claimer at Clonmel last week. He could improve on that opening run of the season but will be vulnerable if the newcomer CLINICAL APPRACOH lives up to his potential. Out of New Approach, the Bolger inmate won't have to be special to win this contest. Costa may head the dangers amongst the supporting cast.
  1. Clinical Approach
  2. Lost History
  3. Costa
