Campaigned over further than this for the most part since winning over the trip three years ago, but did run well on his only 1m start last season, which also happened to be his reappearance. Gelded in the winter and could do better. Has to be feared if taking him on with something else.
Won a Newcastle maiden (7f, good) a couple of years ago but has clearly been tricky to train, with only three runs since. Last seen almost a year ago at Thirsk when going close (1m, good to firm) from 1lb lower. Has needed first run on both occasions so far, so the market will probably be our best guide for expectations today.
After landing an auction maiden at Brighton in October 2015, he went 10 handicaps without success until getting his nose in front on his reappearance at Doncaster last month (7f, good to firm). That was his first start for this trainer. A 4lb rise looks fair and he can again be very competitive.
Went close in a maiden before winning one at Ayr in September (7f, good to soft) at his third attempt. Plenty of speed in the pedigree as well as success at around this trip. Top stable in good form and have had three winners at this age already this season, so he can go very well with his allowance looking handy.
Another runner of Classic age who comes here trying to follow up a win, in his case over this trip at Kempton in March. Handicap debut from fair mark, though stable 0-13 with three-year-olds on turf so far this season.
Forecasts
Naval Warfare (15/8), Rotherwick (5/2), Sabador (4/1), Art Echo (11/2), Ski Blast (10/1)
Rotherwick may be able to do a bit better again now gelded and can again go well at this trip on his return to action, while Art Echo is respected stepped up to 1m after his Doncaster win last time. Ski Blast would be interesting if supported, though he has needed his first outing in both seasons that he has raced and preference is for NAVAL WARFARE, whose yard's three-year-olds have begun the campaign well and he can take advantage of his age allowance.
- Naval Warfare
- Art Echo
- Rotherwick
