Consistent performer who has finished out of the frame just once in seven starts. Won a Salisbury maiden last year and her two handicap runs have been very creditable. 2lb rise won't be to her advantage and may just need this reappearance.
Won a fast ground Bath maiden over this trip in 2015 and went close enough to winning in just two handicap starts last season. Gelded before last month's return at Yarmouth, which he looked in need of and can step up on that here with first-time blinkers fitted.
Has won 3-28 for a variety of trainers and scored from 5lb on the All Weather at Chelmsford last season. Has been tried over further on both starts this year, to no avail, so may do better back at 1m2f now that handicapper has taken his foot off the throat.
Won both her debut maiden and then her first handicap start last season but has been frustrating to follow since, placing in nine of her next 11 starts and a beaten favourite in six of those. Handicapper still reluctant to relent and the likelihood is that she will find something too good again.
6lb higher than when winning a soft ground handicap on the July Course over this trip last year. Also went close in a better race at Nottingham from 2lb lower than today, so has the ability to make a big impact here and very much respected.
Veteran winner of 10 of his 67 starts, but the last of those was way back in November 2012 from a 28lb higher mark. Cannot be recommended on recent evidence.
Forecasts
Burguillos (7/4), Mariee (5/2), Wapping (4/1), Compton Mill (6/1), Primogeniture (10/1), Art Scholar (50/1)
Compton Mill looks booked for a decent run here, while Burguillos is consistent but may just need this reappearance. Primogeniture has been given a chance by the handicapper and the drop back in trip looks positive, while Mariee looks in need of similar treatment from the assessor to be winning again. However, the suggestion is WAPPING, who remains unexposed and can step up on his reappearance run with blinkers added here for the first-time.
- Wapping
- Primogeniture
- Compton Mill
