A Sedgefield and Southwell regular who proved her stamina at the former track last time when taking a 3m, 3f handicap hurdle. Has run only once over fences when fourth of eight at Sedgefield in December, so it is interesting to see connections trying again over the larger obstacles.
Won a Taunton novices' handicap chase on his first outing for this stable in April, last year, and was not disgraced at this track when third on his next start the following month. Has race only twice since, disappointing on both occasions, and comes into this on the back of a long lay-off. Watching brief advised.
Placed in two point-to-points and two chases, he had no chance when third to superior rivals at Fontwell last time. Still early days for him and, as he has shown definite signs of ability in recent starts, he enters calculations.
Has been in the frame in five of his six starts, including when not looking the most resolute in a finish when second of four in a Warwick novices' handicap last time. Needs to brush up his jumping, but has some talent and is considered with a visor fitted for the first time.
Experienced campaigner over feces, but is on a losing streak which stretches back to June, 2013. No reason why he should be getting his head back in front at this stage of his career, although he did run well at a big price when runner-up at Huntingdon last time,
Not many miles on the clock for one of his age, and showed he was no back number when easily winning a Market Rasen handicap chase 12 days ago. Has been raised seven pounds for that, but is in good heart and probably has more to offer. Can race prominently which is no bad thing at this track.
Won a Fontwell handicap chase in December and has been running creditably since. Beaten 10L by Ohms Law last time and is 8lb better off in the ratings which has encouraged connections to have another go.
Another to have crossed swords with Ohms Law at Market Rasen, he has a 7lb pull for a 31L beating, which should not be enough to see him reverse the placings.
Six-time chase winner in his younger days, but has shown nothing on recent outings and is on a downward spiral. Readily opposed.
Forecasts
Jamrham (3/1), Tommy The Rascal (7/2), Fort Gabriel (5/1), Wish In A Well (11/2), Ohms Law (15/2), Nicki's Nipper (8/1), Touch Screen (8/1), That's The Deal (16/1), Peak Seasons (100/1)
The Market Rasen handicap chase which OHMS LAW won seems to hold the key to this and even though Jamrham and Wish In A Well have weight pulls, such was the authority of the winner that the placings are likely to be confirmed. Touch Screen and Tommy The Rascal remain young enough to make their mark in this sphere and are respected.
- Ohms Law
- Tommy The Rascal
- Jamrham
