C&D winner last year off a 4lb lower mark having won at Doncaster on his previous start but failed to get competitive in much tougher contests after that. Has been easy to back in both his starts this year on the AW (may have needed the runs) and is of interest here back in the right grade.

Two wins last year that both came on soft ground the last of them here over 1m1f in July where once again he didn't look an easy ride. Ran poorly in two starts to end the season and may well need this comeback run with the ground also a little quicker than he prefers.

Only has one win to his name to date and that came over this trip in a Ripon maiden and he struggled after that. Kept busy over the winter with hurdling his two runs on the Flat since have left a little to be desired and he runs off a tough enough looking mark here.

Previously a fair handicapper when with David Marnane in Ireland although he hasn't won since 2015 and has become potentially well treated off a mark of 75. Both of his runs fir this yard have shown promise (particularly the one at Southwell) and he might just have needed the turf run at Redcar last time out and should be suited by this return to 1m2f.

Losing run is starting to build some momentum now but with his mark falling and an encouraging run on the AW at Wolverhampton under his belt he remains of interest. Never nearer than at the finish on that run he'll be suited by a return to this trip with the only slight doubt being that the ground may be a little quick for him.

Both his career wins have come at this track with the latest one coming over this trip last July (took advantage of a drop in the weights). Almost certainly suited by having the run of the race and never really in the same sort of form afterwards although he could get a relatively easy lead again here back at his favourite course.

Benefitted from an enterprising ride when winning at Carlisle in September and showed a good attitude there (battled on well). Not in the same form on only subsequent start and needed the run at Windsor on seasonal reappearance last time out over 1m2f and possibly a bit better over shorter trips.

Not win since successful over a mile here in June 2015 off a mark of 87. Failed to take advantage of a falling mark all through last year for Richard Fahey and sold from that yard for £12,000 in October. Now starts life for a new yard off a career low mark but does have to show more to arrest the decline.

Forecasts

Warp Factor (6/4), Pullman Brown (9/2), Euchen Glen (13/2), Archie's Advice (9/1), Eez Eh (9/1), Spes Nostra (10/1), Royal Regent (16/1), Intiwin (20/1)

Verdict

Couple if very interesting and well handicapped horses in Spes Nostra and PULLMAN BROWN should be towards the head of any shortlist here. The former will appreciate this trip but might just need a little more cut in the ground and that just hands the vote to the latter after his two promising runs for this yard. Euchan Glen represents some solid handicap form in this grade and the Goldie yard are no strangers to success at this track. Royal Regent would be dangerous with an easy lead at a course where he has gained both his wins.
  1. Pullman Brown
  2. Euchen Glen
  3. Spes Nostra
