Horse A-Z
Kodiac colt, cost 125,000 gns as a yearling. Dam was a half-sister to a Listed winner and bred for speed. Trainer and jockey couldn't be in better form and leading claims.

Exchange Rate colt, cost $60,000 as a yearling. Dam was a dirt winner over a mile in the U.S. and bred for middle distances more than sprint trips. Not dismissed out of hand though with trainer and jockey in such good form.
Bated Breath colt, cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Classy pedigree but bred to want plenty further than this.

16/1
War Front colt whose dam was a winner over an extended mile and she was a sister to Group 1 winner Rip Van Winkle. Another who will want further than this with time but should enjoy the forecast fast ground at least. Wears a first-time tongue-tie and would appear to be the stables second string on jockey bookings.
Vocalised colt, cost €17,000 as a yearling. Full-brother to Sweet Sounds but showed very little on debut, should improve for that but others preferred in a decent looking maiden.

Only fourth of five on his debut at Dundalk last month and followed that up with a disappointing effort at Naas last when last of six. Likely to be more effective in handicaps.

Showed pace early on Naas debut before getting tired in the closing stages. Only moderate form at Navan last time and will do better when tackling handicaps.

Dandy Man gelding. Step up to 6f should help as was doing best work at the finish on debut at Naas. Experience in his favour, but this looks a potentially hot contest.

Shamardal colt who will want plenty further than this and yard have been a little quiet so far this season so probably best watched on debut.

Lope De Vega colt, cost 80,000 gns as a yearling. Fair effort on debut and likely to improve but bred for middle distances.

Scat Daddy colt and dam won her only start over this trip. Bred to be speedy and made a very promising debut at Naas when third of 10. Has a nice draw to play with and could be hard to beat if he's progressed from that debut.

Dream Ahead filly, cost €5,000 as a yearling. Showed very little on debut and hard to back on the back of that effort.

Forecasts

Sioux Nation (8/11), Sebastiano Ricci (6/1), Camelback (8/1), Brother Bear (9/1), Scorpion Black (12/1), Fleet Review (16/1), Natty Dresser (20/1), Moltoir (25/1), Escamillo (25/1), Mister Magic (50/1), Spirit Of Dreams (66/1), Footstepsintime (66/1)

Verdict

BROTHER BEAR should go well for a trainer and jockey who couldn't be in better form in recent weeks and there's plenty of speed in this colt's pedigree. Sioux Nation is another bred for speed and he made a promising debut and gets the vote of Seamie Heffernan. Camelback will appreciate more of a stamina test than this but his class should see him put up a fair show.
  1. Brother Bear
  2. Sioux Nation
  3. Camelback
