Experienced middle-distance campaigner on turf and AW. Not at his best when last seen at Kempton at the beginning of April, but has been given a short break by his busy standards and could well bounce back. Has not won beyond 1m 4f.

Returned from a five-month break to win at Musselburgh a couple of days ago and is turned out again under a six-pounds penalty. Clearly in rude health and likely to make a bold bid if his exertions on Friday have not had a negative effect.

Bounced back from some disappointing efforts when winning a Wolverhampton fillies' handicap last month. Has yet to win off this sort of mark on turf, but is in good heart and has to be considered for her respected connections.

Has yet to win on turf, but seemed to produce an improved display when third of 13 in a Catterick handicap last month. Still lightly raced, so he could take another step forward and get involved at the business end.

Showed promise on his only start at three, and made a winning debut for his new yard when landing a Redcar maiden over 3f shorter last month. Runs in a handicap for the first time and, as it is impossible to know how good he is, he warrants considerable respect for his shrewd stable.

Improved performer since joining his current stable, winning back-to-back races on the AW at Wolverhampton. His turf rating has gone up in line with his AW mark, but he is in such good heart that he must enter calculations.

Forecasts

Busy Street (6/4), Kensington Star (9/2), Renfrew Street (9/2), Corton Lad (8/1), Monjeni (8/1), Sennockian Star (8/1)

Verdict

A trappy middle-distance handicap in which a case can be made for each of the runners. Kensington Star could be a anything and is clearly one to keep a close eye on, while stable companions Sennockian Star and Renfrew Street will probably race prominently and could be difficult to pass. Busy Street and Monjeni will also have their supporters, but preference is for CORTON LAD, who won so well a couple of days ago and could go in again under his penalty.
  1. Corton Lad
  2. Kensington Star
  3. Sennockian Star
