Finally shed the maiden tag for his former yard (Ralph Beckett) when winning over 6f at Salisbury last May. Stepped up in trip after that and his handicap form was a rather mixed bag and he definitely looked to need the run on his first start for this yard on the AW over 7f. Yard are capable with new recruits but it might take them a few runs to find the key.
Has won over C&D and followed up that win here on 2015 with a couple of consistent runs. Looks out of sorts of late though and lost his way at the end of last season and his latest run failed to convince (ran much too free).
Back down to his last winning mark (72) having been largely reliable off slightly high ones recently. Recent AW efforts have been creditable and he could well make his presence felt of this sort of mark.
Scored on his debut last year taking a Chepstow maiden in taking fashion on heavy ground over 7f. Handicap efforts after that were modest with the best coming when he got on ground with cut in it again at Ayr. May well find the ground too lively here as he returns for his second season of action.
Form has a very uneven look about it in handicaps with a couple of decent runner-up slots interspersed with some poor efforts. Needs to bounce back here after being pulled-up amiss on her last start at the end of 2016.
Well placed to grab a lead here with both his recent AW wins gained from the front and this track suits those that like to make the pace. Does have to overcome a higher mark here back on turf but dangerous if allowed to establish an easy lead.
Will be running of a 3lb higher mark in future and has been in good form for this yard winning on his first start for them in an AW maiden at Newcastle (6f) in November. Hard to say that he's been progressive in handicaps since then but his form is solid and his last two turf starts have seen him capture the runner-up slot twice.
Showed a jump forward in her form when second on handicap debut on her first start last year and followed that up with another good effort. Last seen in May 2016 when looking a little disappointing over a mile at Carlisle but that test looked too sharp for her and surprising to see her back over 7f here.

Forecasts
Tadaawol (6/4), Vallarta (11/2), Tavener (6/1), Shootingsta (6/1), Flinty Fell (9/1), Short Work (16/1), Fidra Bay (16/1), Donnelly's Rainbow (16/1), Ralphy Boy (20/1)
It will be to the advantage of TAVERNER if Ralphy Boy doesn’t run here as that could well hand him an easy lead from an advantageous draw on a track that suits those who like to lead. Tadaawol has been consistent enough and this is his last chance to run to run off his old mark as he’s going up 3lb in future handicaps. Vallarta is consistent enough and could take a hand while it won’t be a total surprise if the O’Meara yard find the key to Short Work.

- Vallarta
