Doesn't win many (3-32) and without a win in 15 starts currently. Return for seasonal bow and doesn't appeal on form shown in final run last term over mile at Newmarket.
Just one of five career wins has come on turf, was in decent enough form on the AW in January in final appearances for Michael Appleby before joining this trainer. Worth check in betting.
Very inconsistent type who hasn't won since 2014 and often refuses to settle in his races. Still above his last winning mark, which came over C&D three years ago, and hard to fancy.
Been running well enough on the AW off this rating recently to suggest a race like this on turf isn't out of reach.
Won over this C&D last summer in emphatic style, also won at Ascot in September and acceptable reappearance effort on Lingfield's AW last month when beaten 3¼L. Could have plenty more to offer now back on turf.
Dual turf winner is 6lb higher than previous winning mark, has run some solid races in defeat since that Ascot success in August and can have a say here if fit enough to do himself justice on seasonal bow.
Was promising once upon a time but winless run stands at 16 now and stretches back to September 2015. Recent form is not appealing.
Without a win in 21 turf starts, tends to do his best work on the AW at Kempton, though was out of form there when last spotted in January. Has something to find on formbook.
Much more reliable performer on AW than he has proved on turf, was below form over 7f at Lingfield recently, probably wants further than this trip these days.
Forecasts
Gothic Empire (5/2), Taurean Star (4/1), Realize (9/2), Horsted Keynes (7/1), Glory Awaits (17/2), Georgian Bay (9/1), Firmdecisions (20/1), Philba (20/1), Majestic Moon (25/1)
Philba is worth a look in the market in his first outing for this yard, while Firmdecisions has shown enough on the AW recently to also warrant some consideration for his turf return. Taurean Star can go well on his return to action but this might prove a workable opportunity for GOTHIC EMPIRE to add to last summer's C&D win. He was emphatic scorer then and is just 4lb higher than when winning again at Ascot in September. Last month's spin on the AW at Lingfield should leave him ripe for a tilt at this prize.
- Gothic Empire
- Taurean Star
- Firmdecisions
