Hasn't quite been in the same good form as last year since moving from Marcus Tregoning's, and didn't run particularly well on his previous attempt over C&D so it may be that top weight here is too much to ask of him, even with a top jockey in the saddle.
Won his first three races and was even tries unsuccessfully at group level, but has lost his way badly since and is still looking for a fourth career victory. Drops down the handicap again now, but more will be needed than when finishing seventh at Wolverhampton last time.
Yet to get off the mark but went close at Bath last time when beaten less than a length. This is over slightly further, which should suit, and he could be particularly dangerous if coming on at all for that run.
Generally progressive type who blew out at Hamilton when sent off favourite in July following a series of impressive wins, but was beaten only narrowly at Wolverhampton last time out (was the Evens favourite, however). May be better for that run but is 3lb higher for this.
Consistent sort who was only touched off by a nose over C&D two starts ago. Resumed winning ways over the same trip at Wolverhampton last time and though he's 5lb higher now he seems progressive and another bold bid could be on the cards.
Won off a mark of 66 at Newcastle in January but has struggled with a higher weight since. Switch back to turf at Pontefract last time didn't help and others hold more convincing claims here.
Recorded a second career win at Chelmsford last time out and is raised 3lb for that effort. Had been consistently going close prior to that and is clearly talented, racing here on ground that should suit.
Both career wins came at Thirsk last August and hasn't really threatened to get involved with the finish of a race since, and though she sinks to a career-low handicap mark for this it's difficult to get excited on the basis of her previous C&D sixth and third (when beaten favourite).

It was encouraging to see SCRIBNER CREEK resume winning ways at Wolverhampton last time having run well over today's C&D in the past, and of all the contenders here he may be the most progressive. He's 5lb higher now but if able to overcome that he could easily double up here. Therthaar is another improver who should be feared on the basis of his good run of form last year, while Pacific Salt could have his ideal conditions today.
