Winner of a Wolverhampton maiden in January which has worked out since. Up considerably in trip but pedigree suggests there is merit in the move.

Plenty of stamina in the pedigree and looks a typical developer for the yard. Not harshly treated having beaten a subsequent winner last time in a race where the slow pace would have been a disadvantage.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-7| J: J Fanning| T: C & M Johnston| OR:  75
5/2
Has improved with each run and opened his account in a four-runner maiden last time. Form is hardly exciting but he may have more to come as he steps up in trip once more.

Has progressed since moving into middle-distance handicaps and was a comfortable winner at Southwell last time. More to do here in better company and off a 9lb higher mark.

12/1
Half-brother to the yard's multiple winner Bracken Brae who is best at around 2m. Will obviously be seen to better effect for the extra yardage but overall form suggests the handicapper has taken few chances.

Has checked out early in recent races including in first time blinkers last time. Aids removed here but she is beginning to look distinctly moderate and untrustworthy.

Verdict

The three topweights look the ones to concentrate on here. Pete So High won a Wolverhampton maiden which has worked out. He is up considerably in distance here but as a son of High Chapparal that appears a wise move but he needs to find a bit more for the switch to trouble Addicted To You and ALABASTER. The former won a four runner maiden last time and holds Bishops Cannings on that effort. The runner-up has been soundly beaten twice since. Addicted To You has progressed with every run though and remains one to fear. ALABASTER is a typical Prescott horse who has improved with each appearance. Further progress is likely now tackling this trip and making his handicap debut. He had a subsequent winner behind in a tactical race last time when still looking green and he could be ahead of the handicapper coming into this.
  1. Alabaster
  2. Pete So High
  3. Addicted To You
