Ex-French gelding who had an unsuccessful spell hurdling earlier this season. Beaten 1½L on debut for this stable when finishing runner-up over 1m2f at Kempton on the AW early last month. Faded over 1f further off this 2lb higher mark a month ago and an interesting runner in this.
Best turf effort of last season came when finishing third over 1m2f at Sandown (good) in June. Had just two starts since then and races off a mark 14lb higher than for his most recent success. Probably best watched on his first outing since August.
Best effort in three races for this yard came when beaten 1L into second over 1m2f at Nottingham (good-to-soft) last October. Ran well enough when beaten 6L dropped to 1m at Newbury subsequently though best form is on ground softer than is predicted today.
Broke his maiden at the 12th time of asking over 1m at Chelmsford in November. Beaten a head on his return to handicap company on the AW over 1m at Kempton last month and an interesting runner returning to turf off a mark 4lb higher than when placed over C&D last July.
Ex-Godolphin gelding and a winner on debut at Chelmsford over 7f in November 2015. Making his return from an 11 month absence when 5¼L sixth over 1m at Kempton in March. Market support would be noteworthy on just his fourth career start.
Maiden after six outings and placed on first five outing's of 2016 including over 1m2f in an AW maiden at Chelmsford in June. Beaten 11L when slowly away and last of six on handicap debut over 1m at Chelmsford in March. Stable have a 17% strike-rate recently (3/18).
C&D winner off a 1lb lower mark in July 2015. Finished well held since beaten 1½L into fourth over C&D on good ground in this contest in 2016. Races off a 9lb lower mark today and likely to run well if fit for his return to action.
Won just one of his 32 career outings but ran well on his seasonal debut when beaten 1½L when finishing third in a 16 runner contest on good ground over C&D last month. Placed off much higher marks in the past and one for the shortlist in this.
Forecasts
Cape Banjo (3/1), Biotic (4/1), Getback In Paris (9/2), Zzoro (5/1), Cordite (11/2), Archimento (10/1), Solo Hunter (12/1), Jufn (33/1)
BIOTIC finished a close fourth in this contest in 2016 and can take this years renewal off a 9lb lower mark here. The selection has been out of form in the main since then but his trainer has had a couple of winners of late including one here last week. Second place can go the way of Cape Banjo who has been running well recently including when finishing runner-up at Kempton last month while Cordite ran well over C&D last month and can claim third once more.
