Won when stepped up to a mile at Kempton in February but hasn't been able to follow that up recently, despite running some nice races in defeat. Would need to step up again to take this, which doesn't seem very likely, but he's not the least likely winner in the field.
Only twice-raced since April 2015 but put in a promising performance at Musselburgh last time out, and raced in the manner of a horse who would probably appreciate the step up in trip that he gets today.
On a fairly long losing streak now and it may be that the handicapper has his measure, but all five of his wins have come at this course and so he may be worth considering on his return to this venue.
Has raced over this trip only once in his seven most recent starts and won that race narrowly, which bodes well for today's race, but he has gone up 14lb in the handicap in the past year despite not having had that much racing, and he did seem to struggle with a big weight last time out.
Returns to the track for the first time since August when he put in a tame display over 6f at Ripon. Wears a first time hood now, presumably to help him settle over this longer trip, but he does need to overcome the lengthy absence.
Sprang a surprise to win at 25/1 at Pontefract last time and is raised 4lb for that victory. Has course form here, which is helpful and will enjoy the forecast ground, but another career best would be required.
C&D winning veteran who makes his 166th start under rules here. Showed he can still win races with a victory off 3lb higher at Hamilton last year, but is vulnerable to a younger, more improving type here.
Yet to get off the mark and gave the impression last time that his current handicap mark is too high for him, despite a 2lb drop from that 8½L beating at Newcastle (1m2f, standard).
Still 4lb higher than at the time of his most recent victory but a fine second at Redcard last time (1m, good), was more like it and hinted that he may be able to get his head in front off this sort of weight. Up 1lb but could still go well.
Has been doing most of his racing over 7f recently so it's interesting to see him stepped up in trip. Has run well over this trip in the past and should be considered here.

Forecasts
Carnageo (9/2), Palmerston (11/2), Jacbequick (11/2), Billy Roberts (11/2), Eternal (6/1), Toboggan's Fire (6/1), Detachment (9/1), Alejandro (10/1), Mon Beau Visage (12/1), Dubai Dynamo (14/1), Jabbaar (14/1), Yorkee Mo Sabee (20/1)
Toboggan's Fire brings some of the best form on offer into this race, but there is a slight question mark for her over the forecast quick ground, while Eternal has looked like he wants the step up in trip he gets here but having only raced twice in the last two years he has clearly had his problems. Preference therefore, is for MON BEAU VISAGE. David O'Meara's charge has been doing most of his racing over shorter recently, and though he hasn't been crying out for a step up in trip it's interesting to see him returned to this distance after some previous creditable runs over a 1m. He remains unexposed over this trip and should go well today.
- Mon Beau Visage
- Eternal
- Toboggan's Fire
