Steadily getting the hang of things and comes here on the back of a sound performance to finish second in a similar heat at Redcar earlier this month. Raised 4lb for that effort but she may still have a bit more to offer now that she's proved she retains ability.
Consistent at a modest level last season; makes his first start after a gelding operation so may be a different proposition. Interesting if supported.
Placed over C&D last season and has run run well in defeat subsequently. Positive that she gets on well with Royston Ffrench and no surprise to see her involved in the thick of the action. Likes to race with the pace and has hit the barrier a little too soon in the past, so would be noteworthy if she is ridden with a bit more patience this time around.
Third behind a couple of 70-rated individuals last time out, which reads well in the context of this race. Very positive jockey booking and, with a decent draw added to boost his claims, a big run can be expected if he can overcome being absent since last August.
Caused a bit of a shock when he made a winning start for his new yard at Chelmsford earlier this month; same jockey booked and he is unlikely to be allowed to start at odds of 16/1 on this occasion. He has all the appliances fitted today and is well drawn. Needs to better his previous efforts on turf though.
Already has something to find with Judy Woods and looks up against it in this company. Bred to get at least a mile, so his connections may find a race for him over a longer trip in due course.
Ran keenly on debut at Pontefract last season but lack of experience showed near the finish. Didn't really make much progress in two subsequent starts but has been gelded since, so may settle a bit better. Not unduly punished for his handicap debut but others make a tad more appeal.
Not shown much in three starts so far and has a lot to prove now. A mile may suit in time but he makes limited appeal over this trip.
Ran well on soft ground at Pontefract last October - a performance which created the impression she can pay her way before too long. She failed to really build on that but it is feasible that she may improve for the switch to turf. The daw could have been kinder though.
Yard has to be respected but he was behind Judy Wood, Zebedee Star, and Vaux last time out and it's hard to see him pulling out the extra effort required to reverse the form.
Mid-division on her first start for her new yard last time out (has a bit to find with Judy Woods) but may have needed the run. Place claims if she can use that as a platform and one to monitor in the betting.
Finished last in a modest handicap at Wolverhampton latest, so obviously needs to post a much better effort this time around. But she ran well in a couple of nurseries last season, so does have ability locked away somewhere. May be best watched until she has proved her well being for the campaign ahead though.
No show on her handicap debut at Catterick earlier this month and the portents suggest this may be a tough start to the new campaign for her.
Forecasts
Judy Woods (9/2), Arnold (6/1), Scotch Myst (8/1), Kroy (8/1), See You Mush (8/1), Equity (8/1), Kaeso (11/1), Paquita Bailarina (14/1), Myllachy (14/1), Glyder (14/1), Zebedee Star (20/1), Vaux (22/1), Miss Pepper (100/1)
The booking of Paul Hannagan is a big plus for KROY and is a tempting enough clue towards his well being to give him the benefit of the doubt on his seasonal return. Glyder may help to set a decent tempo and would be dangerous to underestimate, while See You Mush has a handy draw and is likely to be popular in his bid to follow up his winning return to action despite carry another 3lb today. However, Judy Woods has already proved that she has trained on into her third year and will be a more potent threat if she copes with topweight.
- Kroy
- Judy Woods
- Glyder
