His Italian form in Group 3 races over a mile and a little further entitles him to top weight here. Below form on his first start for this yard on the AW in a 1m2f Listed contest on the AW (not ideally placed) and we should find out a lot more about him here.

The second of two runners in the race for the trainer and like his stablemate he had some useful form when trained in Italy. Ran a stormer on his first run in GB for this yard off a mark of 105 and despite two poor runs in Dubai since has to be taken seriously here.

Losing run is starting to stack up but he has faced some stiff tasks of late and doesn't look the same horse as he was when winning a Listed contest at York two years ago. Mark still looks very high with the tongue strap going on for the first time.

Strong traveller who won a couple of good handicaps last year and probably turned in his best run in defeat on his penultimate start of the season. Only found an improving three-year-old too good on that occasion and should be able to take a hand here having run well when fresh before.

The winter AW season has seen him fairly busy with three wins all at Wolverhampton coming his way winning the last of them off a mark of 97. Had some stiffer tasks after that in Listed and Group class and he'll appreciate the return to handicap company on turf although his mark is much increased from his last win on turf.

York specialist who also goes well on the AW at Lingfield and won two conditions races there over the winter over 7f and a mile. Handicap marks such as this one found him out after that and he looks to have a stiff task again here.

El Vip15
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-11| J: L Dettori| T: L M Cumani| OR:  94

Really progressive sort last year as a three-year-old (won on debut) and ended the season on a high note when winning at Leicester over a mile off a mark of 89. His return at Bath after a long break highlighted his progressive nature and off the same mark (94) here he still looks well treated and open to plenty of improvement.

War Glory15
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-10| J: P J Dobbs| T: R Hannon| OR:  93
11/2
Maiden and handicap debut winner last year (made light of his opening mark) and has come back better than ever this year after being gelded over the winter. Rather unlucky not to get more than a couple of second places from his two runs on the AW and although yet to win on turf deserves respect.

Formerly trained in Germany and won in his native land and in France but has so far really failed catch fire in GB for two different trainers. Well backed last time out on the Fibresand at Southwell but totally blew his chance with a slow and awkward start.

Generally needs the mud to show her best form (won twice last year on soft and heavy) but is back to her last winning mark. Likely to need some softer ground to show her best though and others are preferred here.

Forecasts

El Vip (5/4), Early Morning (7/2), War Glory (11/2), Quixote (11/1), Top Notch Tonto (12/1), Kyllachy Gala (20/1), Imshivalla (20/1), Alfred Hutchinson (25/1), Poeta Diletto (33/1), Mythical Madness (50/1)

Verdict

The well treated EL VIP is potentially much better than his mark and still looks to have more improvement in him as he takes on some solid handicap types. War Glory certainly enters the equation and deserves to win a race based on his form so far. Early Morning has gone well fresh before and should be taken seriously with quite a few of the rest looking to have stiff handicap marks to overcome although the Botti duo Poeta Diletto and Kyllachy Gala are a wild card duo of interest.
  1. El Vip
  2. War Glory
  3. Early Morning
