Veteran performer and a regular in this contest proving victorious in 2009 and for the past two years. Had just two outings since finishing third at Limerick in 2014 and successful on each occasion (in this contest) he is likely to prove very hard to beat once more.

Gained a first victory under rules when taking a banks contest on the opening day of this meeting. Previously finished third to the classy Foxrock in a hunter chase at Gowran Park in March he looks likely to run well again in this (finished runner-up here in 2016).

Sole success from eight point-to-point stars came at Ballinaboola in a maiden event in November. Finished 3L second to Enniskillen in a point-to-point here in February and likely to find one or two too good in a a first time hood toady.
Successful twice from 28 outings in point-to-point company but yet to win in six starts over regulation fences. Finished fourth in this contest in 2016 but more needed if he's to improve on that this time around.
Lightly raced nine-year-old and off the mark at the first time of asking at Oldcastle in April 2016. Subsequently finished runner-up at Tinahely on his return in January prior to a poor effort when pulled up at Nenagh later that month. Wears a tongue tie for the first time today.

Maiden on the Flat, over jumps and in point-to-point company. Well beaten in maiden point-to-point's the last twice and likely to struggle here.
Off the mark when one of only two finishers in a six runner point-to-point at Bellurgan Park earlier this month. Has the same jockey on board again here though more needed in this contest.
Maiden after 14 point-to-point efforts and finished sixth at a big price in this contest in 2016. Well beaten behind Enniskillen in a point-to-point here in February and needs to improve to figure here. Wears cheekpieces for the first time.

Still disputing the lead when unseating her rider on debut in a point-to-point at Stradbally in May last year. Made no mistake on her only subsequent outing at Ballingarry (good-to-firm) in June. Unraced since but remains unexposed.
Winner of her first point-to-point start at Stradbally (good-to-firm) in April 2014. Subsequently pulled up on yielding ground later that year and returns from over two years off the track here.

Winner twice from 11 point-to-point starts including in a banks event at Athlacca in May 2015. Well beaten behind Enniskillen here earlier in the week and more needed if she's to record a first success over regulation fences in this.

Forecasts

Enniskillen (15/8), Pass The Ball (4/1), Das Mooser (5/1), Shin A Vee (5/1), Buzzkillbob (12/1), Hasty Times (14/1), Cant Pay Wont Pay (16/1), Definitely Fureys (25/1), Oscar Day (25/1), Mary's The Boss (33/1), Linkup (50/1), Walk And Talk (66/1)

Verdict

SHIN A VEE can claim a fourth success in this opening 2m4f contest and a second under today's rider. The selection hasn't been seen on the track since winning this last year but has won off a long absence before and can get the better of Enniskillen who was successful in a banks contest earlier this week with the unexposed mare Das Mooser and the veteran Hasty Times taken to fight it out for third.
  1. Shin A Vee
  2. Enniskillen
  3. Das Mooser
