Raced all season with the Aintree Foxhunters in mind, but lost his place after a blunder at Valentines. A winner at Musselburgh in March (2m4f) he's very much back on home turf, but this trip is a slight concern.
Successful three times under rules and has run well in Point-to-Point company at Hutton Rudby and Tabley recently, but found life tougher in a Stratford Hunters Chase latest. Ground will be fine.
In super form in Point-to-Points this term winning three of his last four races at Brocklesby Park and Charm Park x2. Prominent racer whose last rules start was also a winning one here at the Festival last April. Closely matched with Close House.
The youngster of this group, and only campaigned in Point-to-Points so far during a 12 race career, winning twice over twelve months apart at Corbridge and Overton. Handles drying ground and goes well for this rider.
Useful bumper racer for Karen McLintock and David Pipe, but has not raced under rules since April 2014 (Aintree handicap hurdle). Might well have beaten Monsieur Jourdain but for a final fence fall at Charm Park in March and posted a solid effort latest at Askham Bryan College. Interesting now switched from Emma Clark to this trainer.
Finished 4L third behind Monsieur Jourdain over C&D last April but has twice been successful in Point-to-Points in the Borders (Friars Haugh) and Northumberland (Tranwell, Morpeth) this term. He got the better of Wind of Hope on that latest start by 4L in a 3m Ladies Open.
Dual hurdles winner for Jimmy Moffatt in the distant past, but has taken well to competing in Point-to-Points winning two of his seven starts. Long in the tooth, but a winner over 3m2f in deep ground at Friars Haugh earlier this month.
2015 Buccleuch Cup winner (Kelso), he went onto follow up here over C&D at the April Festival in 2015. Not able to get his head in front under rules since, he's been in fine fettle in Point-to-Points winning each of his last two starts (both 3m) at Friars Haugh and Corbridge.
Twice a runner up since winning at short odds at Corbridge in February, this former course winner (2m4f; May 2015) has work to do to reverse Tranwell placings with Molten Brown.

A race for the National Hunt purists which is certain to be fiercely contested. Plenty of these runners have form in this race at the Perth April Festival previously, and Monsieur Jourdain arrives seeking a fourth success of the campaign. However, he was a shade fortunate that CLOSE HOUSE departed at the last at Charm Park in March, and that former useful rules campaigner for David Pipe looks an interesting stable debutant for Phil Kirby. 2015 Buccleuch Cup winner Wayupinthesky also looks likely to be competitve and comes into the race seeking a hat-trick following Point-to-Point victories at Friars Haugh and Corbridge.
