Veteran who seems well suited by Hexham, and ran out a game winner of a 2m7½f handicap hurdle there last month off a 5lb lower mark. No match for easy winner last time and others appear better treated.
Has come back from a 15 month absence to run three fine races culminating in a success at Wetherby last month. Not disgraced over fences last month and has claims off this mark. Rider is 6-58 for career under rules.
Showed anticipated improvement for switch in trip and quicker conditions. Up a further 8lb but he looked potentially well treated at Musselburgh and he may have more to come.
Irish point-to-point winner who has run some fine races in defeat this term. Hit by a 9lb rise in the weights after finishing second at Kelso in December. Would have finished closer at Newcastle last time but for hitting the last. Still looks too high in the weights. Rider is 6-36 under NH rules
Winner at Southwell last summer off 4lb lower. Will be better for return at Market Rasen when less leniently treated over a trip short of his best. Rider 16-101 under rules.
Maiden after 20 races but arrives here on far more attractive mark having bombed out at Ayr and Carlisle recently.
No excuses offered to stewards for poor effort last time when fancied in lower grade. Record of 1-21 is not the most appealing profile although he represents last year's winning trainer/jockey combination.
Recent efforts leave him with plenty to prove and patient connections hoping for the visor to perform a minor miracle.
Winner of nine races but seems to require a more extreme test nowadays. Tends to hit a flat spot at some point and this quicker track could find him out. Has a lot to prove following his dismal effort last month.
Without a win in 18 months despite handicapper trying to halt the decline. Could be a tricky ride for his amateur having his first ride under rules.
Has not been convincing over fences of late but was third in this last year off a 4lb higher mark. Rider 5-18 under rules so looks very interesting.
Has failed to complete last two starts and was comprehensively beaten on previous two. Has plenty to prove at present.
Dam was a stayer so the longer trip will be a plus. Should strip fitter for a recent run but hard to find anything positive in terms of form.
No show at big odds in all starts. Faces an uphill task from a mark 11lb out of the handicap.
Formerly with Chris Grant, and has had his fair share of problems, so perhaps not the force of old. Well handicapped on his best form, but out of sorts since moving to this trainer. Comes here 13lb out of the handicap.

Doktor Glaz and The Wise One have less mileage on the clock than most of these and are likely to be amongst the leading contenders. Double Court represents a yard that have won a couple of recent renewals of this, but an unexplained poor run last time raises concerns. HEART O ANNANDALE has not taken to fences too keenly and switches disciplines here. Ian Jardine's charge finished third in this last year off a higher mark and with his rider looking good value for his 5lb claim he looks one worthy of closer inspection.
