Already gelded son of Power makes his racecourse debut. Related to four winners on the dam's side so could be fine in due course. Tough ask on debut though.
Harbour Watch colt related to three winners. Made satisfactory debut when not knocked about and kept on into fifth at this track last October. Better for that experience and should win races.
Street Cry colt well related on dam's side to a number of good winners. Wore cheekpieces on Leopardstown debut earlier his month but showed ability in finishing fourth. Shoud have progressed and comes into the reckoning.
Signs of some ability in two miadens last term but looks type to do much better once handicapped. Yard in very good form though.
$150,000 son of Kitten's Joy makes his racecourse debut here. Dam half-sister to Group 1 winner so might prove useful but surprise if up to winning at this first time of asking.
Rank outsider who has produced nothing of note in three start to date. Looks very much out of his depth once again.
Irish Derby entrant from family of classy US Ranger and made promising start when runner-up at Dundalk last October. Represents top team and needs to run big race if better contests are to come his way later this term.
Sea The Stars gelding making debut here. Half-brother to two winners. Made just €50,000 at sales which is less than most others by his sire. Others make more appeal.
Half-brother to Group 1 Prince of Wales's Stakes winner Free Eagle. Also half-brother to multiple pattern race winner Custom Cut. Bred to be smart and likely to know what's expected of him on his seasonal reappearance. Holds an Investec Derby entry,
Well beaten on both starts in maiden company last season and makes very little appeal in this potentially hot event.
Sea The Stars half-brother to five winners, including decent History Note. Holds no fancy entries but top trainer always respected. Market worth a check.
French bred first foal of a dam who failed to win. Doesn't jump off the page as a winner in waiting and others are preferred on this occasion.
Showed some promise in two fair maidens last season and looks the type who will progress once moving into handicap company. May be best watched for today.
170,000 guineas Dutch Art filly whose dam is a full siuster to Group 1 winner Chorist. Bred to be decent and market should guide as to expectations on debut.
Forecasts
Homesman (11/4), Chronicles (3/1), Rich History (10/3), Sing Like The Sea (8/1), Circling Moon (8/1), Act Of Valour (14/1), Cranesbill (14/1), You Will Do For Me (16/1), Zihaam (16/1), Verse Of Love (28/1), Night Of Glory (33/1), A Place Apart (33/1), Silk King (66/1), Downtown Rebel (100/1)
Although he wears blinkers on his return to action, the beautifully bred RICH HISTORY is taken to reward connections on his seasonal reappearance, mainly at the expense of Ballydoyle's Homesman, who showed ability when runner-up on his first start at Dundalk last autumn. Chronicles caught the eye on debut as one to keep on the right side, while newcomers Zihaam and Sing Like The Sea are also interesting. You Will Do For Me has shown potential and is another to note in the betting .
- Rich History
- Homesman
- Zihaam
