The Herds Garden²⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-12| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 120

10/1

A win record of 1-30 does not promise much. Even allowing for the fact he prefers good ground, his last couple of efforts have been woeful.

Form: 27FU6P

Altiepix^t⁴¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-11| J: R Patrick⁽⁷⁾| T: Kerry Lee| OR: 119

2/1

Formerly with Gordon Eliiott and won four races in Ireland. Acts on any ground and stays well. Burst a blood vessel here last time. May need further but forcing tactics would be a good use of his stamina.

Form: 3333P2-

Blandfords Gunner²³

Age: 8| Weight: 11-11| J: D Bass| T: H Whittington| OR: 119

5/1

Runner-up in a three runner affair last time and winner off a 1lb lower mark last season. Has struggled to find his form this season but the yard have been under a cloud. Things are looking a lot better for them now and he has obvious claims.

Form: 50-4452

Storming Strumpet^t³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Adrian Heskin| T: T R George| OR: 112

11/8

Had a stiff task from 10lb out of the handicap at Cheltenham on Thursday. Ran well under the circumstances to still hold every chance approaching the last. Sure to be penalised for that effort and yard (7-24 in chases here) will seek to capitalise on her current wellbeing.

Form: 5-44223

Lord Landen^t²²

Age: 12| Weight: 10-0| J: Conor Shoemark| T: F O'Brien| OR: 94

8/1

Good effort at Warwick in December but it has been downhill all the way since. Chances, remote as they seem, appear to depend on his ability to dictate the pace

Form: 47934-1

Forecasts

Storming Strumpet (11/8), Altiepix (2/1), Blandfords Gunner (5/1), Little Jimmy (5/1), Lord Landen (8/1), The Herds Garden (10/1)

STORMING STRUMPET ran well from 10lb out of the handicap at Cheltenham in midweek. If showing no ill effects for an early reapearance she will take all the beating for a yard that excel in chases here. Blandfords Gunner is coming to hand as he slides down the weights. That makes him the chief threat with Altiepix taken to make the frame.
