Finished midfield in the Brocklesby on his debut last April but more competitive on next two outings when finishing second. Concern that he wasn't seen after running at Newcastle in May and has his first run since being gelded here.

Successful at the fifth time of asking in maiden company when dropping down to this distance for the first time at Newcastle in November. Runner-up on that occasion has won since and an interesting runner on handicap debut.

Winner of a 5f maiden by a nose over C&D on good-to-firm ground in July. Put a poor run at Leicester behind her when finishing a ½L runner-up at Windsor in October and races off a 2lb higher mark here.

Signs of promise in four runs for Kevin Prendergast in Ireland. Had his first run since being gelded when making a successful debut for this stable on his first try in handicap company over 5f at Newcastle last month and an interesting runner here.

Maiden after seven outings. Finished runner-up in a three runner contest over an extended 5f at Brighton off a mark of 68 in August and subsequently beaten 2L in a maiden race at Pontefract. Well beaten in two handicaps over 7f in 2017 but drop in trip likely to suit.

Winner at the second time of asking at Kempton over a year ago. Finished last of seven and tenth of 13 in two starts this year including on turf last time out and plenty to prove here.

Couple of solid placed efforts in handicap company last year but finished last of 11 over 6f when last seen in action over 6f back in September. Drop in trip looks likely to suit and worth a check in the market for a leading yard.

Placed four times from six starts including twice on turf. Beaten ¾L into third when last seeing a racecourse back in October. Races off the same mark here and an interesting runner for a yard with a 21% strike-rate recently (6/29).

Desert Sport (11/4), Suwaan (7/2), Fabric (7/2), Champion Harbour (6/1), The Big Short (13/2), Monteamiata (7/1), One Too Many (10/1), Tallinski (12/1), Fethiye Boy (12/1), Stringybark Creek (20/1), Lightoller (28/1)

Verdict

DESERT SPORT can claim the concluding 5f sprint handicap on the card. The selection makes his handicap debut here following a victory on the AW at Newcastle in November and having run well on good-to-firm ground previously he can make all to get the better of last month's Newcastle handicap winner Suwaan who has to race off a 5lb higher mark here on just his second outing for this stable. Fabric who was successful over C&D with similar underfoot conditions to those forecast here can take third on her third outing in handicap company and on her first start of 2017.
  1. Desert Sport
  2. Suwaan
  3. Fabric
