Sprang a 20/1 surprise on his Chester debut last May. Was gelded in mid-season and unable to get competitive in final two starts. Interesting to see if he has progressed over the winter.
Started in a seller last year, but won a maiden auction at Beverley (5f, good) and did well enough in nursery handicaps. Gelded in the autumn and makes his first start since. Yard had a recent winner and with a decent draw he can go well.
Gradual improvement in three maidens in the second half of last season. Sire a strong influence for winners over this trip and on forecast good ground. Half-sister to a 3yo winner. Represents top yard in good form and has decent draw. Lots to like on handicap debut.
Placed in five successive races in 2016 and early this year, though frustrating to follow, finding one too good on four occasions. Makes handicap debut from a workable mark and likely to be competitive.
Had a couple of sighters in handicap company before coming good in a maiden at Wolverhampton in February (5f). Assessor has kept him to same rating of 75 for the return to this sphere and might do better now tried again.
Landed a Lingfield novices' contest in May (6f) but found his mark too taxing in nurseries last year. Left Richard Hannon for current yard since then and makes return from 4lb lower than last mark. Probably best watched unless market speaks for her.
Dropped 1lb since last run when comfortably held at Lingfield. Had won a Wolverhampton maiden in February and gone well in a void race at Chelmsford, so ought to be competitive here.
Back-to-back wins at Newcastle kicked off her career nicely, the latter on her handicap debut from a 5lb lower mark. Not beaten far from this rating at Wolverhampton last time. Makes turf debut today and is a half-sister to a dual good ground winner, so could get involved again from a good draw.
3lb higher than when winning at Catterick in August and was competitive from this mark next time. Not so red hot on last three starts, however, and supporters have to hope that the return to turf will see a return to form.
Went close in a Thirsk maiden auction last season, but otherwise not competitive, including on handicap debut at the same track in July from 2lb higher. Related to winners over this trip, so may be able to improve this season, but will need to if she is to win this on her reappearance.
Always looked likely to do better in handicaps and showed that when beaten just a neck on her debut in this sphere at Catterick in October. Raised 4lb for that and returns here fresh, although not the best of draws. Market check advised.
Unable to cope with handicapper's assessment of her on only handicap start last season. Dropped 2lb for this return outing, though another not treated kindly by the draw and perhaps best watched today.
Placed four times out of seven, though yet to get his head in front. Dropped 2lb since being well beaten on handicap debut at Newcastle last month (5f), but the return to this trip looks positive and has tongue strap fitted for first time. Could get competitive from decent gate.
Placed in first six starts last year, all over 5f, but comfortably accounted for on final two starts after being gelded, both in handicaps. Dropped a total of 7lb for that coming into this and will need to improve on what we have seen to be winning from this mark.
Unable to land a blow in maiden company last season, including over C&D in August. Pedigree suggests that she will do better over further and not the best of draws here either, so the suggestion is a watching brief for today.
Thrashed on debut over C&D but learned from that and got reasonably competitive on two other starts last term. Half-brother to three sprint winners, so definitely not one to be writing off yet on handicap debut from a very workable mark. Interesting if supported.
Won a York seller in June and probably didn't quite have the pace to win over the minimum trip here next time. Well beaten in all four handicaps thereafter for a total drop of 15lb. Dam won over this trip and would be interesting if backed on her return from winter break.

Scofflaw (4/1), Logi (11/2), Dandy Highwayman (13/2), Rag Tatter (8/1), Intense Romance (9/1), Heavenly Angel (10/1), Bourbonisto (10/1), Right Action (12/1), Cupid's Arrow (14/1), Outfox (16/1), Suitcase 'n' Taxi (20/1), Decadent Times (20/1), Trick Of The Lyte (25/1), Hamba Kashe (28/1), Prazeres (33/1), Greenview Paradise (40/1), Lexington Sky (50/1), Melaniemillie (50/1)
A wide open contest where there are plenty with claims. Scofflaw is interesting on his return as one who scored on debut last year, while Dandy Highwayman is interesting on his first start since being gelded and Hamba Kashe is on a mark that may look lenient after the event. Intense Romance comes here fit and in-form, while Prazeres and Rag Tatter are others of interest. Despite that, the suggestion is HEAVENLY ANGEL, who has plenty going for her on her handicap debut.
- Heavenly Angel
- Intense Romance
- Prazeres
