Half-brother to three winners, including the 1m2f Listed race scorer Regardez. Plenty to like on breeding but already gelded and a visor on his debut is not particularly encouraging.

Changed hands for more money as a yearling than a foal and is related to winners abroad. Encouraging signs from the yard recently, so respected first time out if market speaks favourably.

Unfancied when hooded for his debut over 1m2f at Pontefract in October but showed signs of promise when a 6L third behind Hamada. Gelded since and likely to appreciate the longer trip.

Changed hands for €130,000 as a two-year-old, having cost significantly less than that as a foal. Brother to a couple of useful winners over this sort of trip and of obvious interest first time out, though blinkers temper enthusiasm slightly.

Nicely-bred gelding by Sinndar with the dam being a half-sister to the 2m Listed winner King Of Wands. Given that stamina-laden pedigree, he did well to finish third over a clearly inadequate 1m here first time out. Obvious claims over 1m4f.

Plenty of promise shown in maidens between 7f and an extended 1m last autumn, beaten under 4L each time. Reappears in first-time cheekpieces with the yard in great order, so very much of interest over a longer trip.

Struggled over 1m first time out but better signs over 1m2f here next time when third of four behind easy long odds-on winner Ajman Princess. Unlikely to be good enough.
Had Lady Maritime just behind her on her debut over 1m2f here last month when the pair chased home easy, long odds-on winner Amjan Princess. Should come on for that but there's more to like in others.

Forecasts

Agathonia (6/4), Physicist (11/4), Touwari (4/1), Tristram (5/1), Tapdancealltheway (20/1), Eyesight (20/1), Forward Contract (25/1), Lady Maritime (66/1)

Verdict

Touwari, a €130,000 purchase, looks the most interesting of the newcomers, though blinkers temper enthusiasm slightly and preference is for the stroutly-bred TRISTRAM who is bound to relish this much longer trip following an encouraging debut over a patently inadequate 1m last month. The biggest threat may emerge from Agathonia in first-time cheekpieces on her return.
  1. Tristram
  2. Agathonia
  3. Touwari
