Never Up23
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Sean Quinlan| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR:  113
7/2
Failed to complete the hat-trick in higher grade last time when displaying a tendency to jump left. As a result he has been dropped to his last winning mark and is back on a left-handed track. Longer trip, judged on keen style of running, is a concern.

Dursey Sound30
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: R P McLernon| T: B Haslam| OR:  113

Obvious claims on his Hexham success in the autumn and 4lb lower now. Well beaten on two previous starts here and far from straightforward.

Attimot,v119
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-11| J: Jonathan England| T: S England| OR:  112
8/1
Winner of two chases here over slightly shorter. Current handicap mark seems to be demanding a lot bearing in mind his two latest performances. Stable have had a good season and possess a good record here.

Oscar O'scarp9
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-10| J: Henry Brooke| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  111

Course winner is 6lb below his last winning mark from a year ago. Should be thereabouts in this grade but recent efforts have continued a downward trend.

So Satisfiedp51
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: Ross Chapman(7)| T: I Jardine| OR:  109
6/1
Has dropped to his last winning mark having not jumped well in his four starts since. Best efforts have come with some cut underfoot.

Age: 9|  Weight: 11-7| J: Tony Kelly| T: R Menzies| OR:  108
9/1
Has been well beaten on both starts following an absence of 10 months. Ran better than his final placing suggests last time and he is now down to a mark which saw him go down in a photo at Cartmel last May. Cheekpieces go on and he is no forlorn hope.

Amuse Mep,t126
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-7| J: B S Hughes| T: James Moffatt| OR:  108
9/1
Has won all three starts here and has a career record of 13-68. May need this outing in preparation for a tilt at some forthcoming Cartmel prizes but on a good handicap mark for when he is ready.

Karisma King23
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-11| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR:  98
2/1
Beat two other finishers at Market Rasen before failing there on better ground next time. Seems to have two ways of running but previous efforts on going this quick are not encouraging.

Forecasts

Karisma King (2/1), Never Up (7/2), So Satisfied (6/1), Attimo (8/1), Oscar O'scar (9/1), Amuse Me (9/1), Clues And Arrows (9/1), Dursey Sound (33/1)

Verdict

Sue Smith saddles a couple in here and a case can be made for both. Of the pair Never Up may be better suited to this ground but is not certain to get the trip. Amuse Me goes well around here but may need the run, whilst Oscar O'Scar and So Satisfied are well weighted on their best form but have been disappointing of late. CLUES AND ARROWS appeared to be coming back to his best last time and has perfect underfoot conditions. He is back down to his last competitive mark and the headgear goes back on.
  1. Clues And Arrows
  2. Never Up
  3. Amuse Me
