Have to go back to February 2014 for his last win, which came here over 2m4½f (soft) from 8lb lower. Switches back to hurdling after a couple of chases earlier in the year, but still looks on a stiff enough mark at present.
Same mark here as when winning a handicap chase at the track (3m, good) in November. Has not been able to cope with step up in class on last three starts over fences, but may be able to finish much closer here.
Two of his five career wins have been at this venue and it was good ground for his hurdles win (2m2½f) in September 2015 from a 4lb lower mark. Has run well over C&D before and handicapper beginning to give him a chance again.
5lb worse off with Popelys Gull for a 4L win over that reopposing rival here last time, when this runner sported a first-time visor. That is retained here, but 7lb rise looks a difficult one to bridge on past evidence.
A consistent mare who has never been out of the first two in the past couple of years, winning four of her seven starts in that period. Goes well enough fresh, although has yet to win after a break and comes into this without a run since July. 6lb higher today but has claims.
Appreciates a sound surface, though well beaten on only handicap run at Wetherby last time and hard to envisage that just a 3lb drop will be enough to tip the scales in his favour this time.

Forecasts
Wake Your Dreams (9/4), Tjongejonge (3/1), Kayla (4/1), Popelys Gull (4/1), Saffron Wells (5/1), Handsome Dan (8/1), Devils Water (12/1)
Tjongejonge should be able to do better now back over hurdles from a winning chase mark, while Kayla and Popelys Gull are others with claims. Preference, however, is for the veteran HANDSOME DAN who likes it here, represents a yard among the winners and has been given a squeak by the handicapper.
