The switch to fences has produced huge improvement and he has won two of his four starts over the large obstacles. His one moderate effort came on a left-handed track, but this is right-handed and the only slight worry is whether the ground may be on the quick side.
A faller when disputing the lead on his chasing debut at Plumpton in October, he was pulled up on his next start at this track 13 days later. He has had a long break, races for his respected stable for the first time and steps up a mile in trip, so hard to know what to expect.
Has had his problems, including breaking a blood vessel three starts ago, but looked transformed when bolting up at Fakenham last time.. The good ground that day clearly helped and he is likely to get his preferred surface again. The one to beat if in the same mood.
Has won twice over C&D this season, but looked completely out of form when beaten 39L on his last start at this track. Needs to bounce back here and others are preferred.
Runner-up on his last five starts and did not look the heartiest of battlers when second over C&D earlier this month. He did have The Jugopolist well behind that day, though, and should confirm that form.
One win from 12 starts over fences, but was a 66-1 shot when falling in the race contested by Copperfacejack and The Jugopolist a fortnight ago. Seems to be regressing and is best swerved.
Quite consistent over fences with a win and four placed efforts over the bigger obstacles. Showed little for his new stable when well beaten in a Towcester hurdle, but the switch back to fences should suit.
Finished 19L behind Copperfacejack over C&D last time and no reason why he should turn the tables on slightly worse terms. Connections reach for the visor for the first time and it will need to have the desired effect.
Forecasts
Copperfacejack (3/1), Kapgarde King (3/1), Honkytonktennessee (7/2), D'nailor (4/1), Larteta (12/1), The Jugopolist (18/1), Trafalgar (20/1), Rogue Dancer (33/1)
Copperfacejack is likely to fare best of those who contested a similar race over C&D a fortnight ago, but he did not impress with his finishing effort that day and top weight Kapgarde King and D'NAILOR make more appeal. The latter won really well last time and seems to thrive on a sound surface. Any money for Honkytonktennessee could be significant.
- D'nailor
- Kapgarde King
- Copperfacejack
