Useful horse on his day and finished fourth in a Grade 1 contest in France back in November. Well beaten in a valuable 3m handicap hurdle at Cheltenham a month ago and reverts to fences with first time cheekpieces on here.
Successful off a 5lb lower mark over 3m2f at Newbury in December. Pulled up the last twice however including in an amateur riders event at Cheltenham last month and is amateur ridden once more here. Wears cheekpieces for the first time.
Winner of a handicap chase over an extended 3m6f at Exeter (good-to-soft) last month. Well beaten in a cross-country event at Cheltenham subsequently and reverts to regulation fences here.
In good form when successful three times in 2016 but well beaten twice so far this season. Pulled up in a valuable contest over an extended 4m at Newcastle in February but this drop in trip should suit and she looks to be one for the shortlist here.
Finished 4L second in a valuable contest at Newcastle over an extended 4m in February on his latest appearance. Had previously finished fifth behind subsequent Grand National winner One For Arthur over 3m5f at Warwick in January on his first outing for 14 months and looks likely to run well here.
Victorious on good ground over 3m5f at Sedgfefield back in October. Sole outing since came when fifth of 15 at Fontwell the following month and he returns from a five month absence today.
Rattled off a treble earlier this year when winning at Chepstow, Warwick and Huntingdon prior to pulling up in the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter a month ago. Makes his debut for a new trainer here and interesting if putting that disappointing effort behind him.
Successful in a 3m hurdle at Cheltenham on soft ground at the start of the year and ran well when third in a 3m handicap chase at Sandown in February. Beaten 12L in the Midlands Grand National last month and interesting dropped in trip today.
Victorious in a novice hurdle over an extended 3m at Catterick in January. Has run well in both outings over fences including when beaten a neck over 3m1f at Catterick (soft) last time out and represents an in form trainer here (11/41 recently).
Forecasts
Aubusson (7/2), Knockanrawley (4/1), The Bay Oak (9/2), Cogry (9/2), Potters Cross (10/1), Kingswell Theatre (11/1), Streets Of Promise (12/1), Court Frontier (12/1), Buachaill Alainn (18/1)
COURT FRONTIER was in good form prior to pulling up in the Eider at Newcastle last time out. The selection makes his debut for his rookie trainer in this contest and is bidding to record a fourth win in five starts in 2017. The Bay Oak is taken to chase home the selection and he is the least exposed runner in the field here having had just the two runs over fences including when runner-up off this mark on his penultimate outing while Streets Of Promise races off a mark 4lb higher than for her latest success and looks likely to try and make all in this.
- Court Frontier
- The Bay Oak
- Streets Of Promise
