Son of presenting cost €45,000 as a 3-y-o and despite coming to grief on his sole point-to-point outing he'll be of plenty interest for this racecourse bow.

Another newcomer from the Elliott team, cost €55,000 and is out of Balko. Yard are in excellent form and has Cheltenham-winning rider booked here.

A €23,000 3-y-o, Noroit gelding he is well related to quite a few winner and should be of plenty interest in time. Market can steer hopes ahead of this first run.

Won on debut at Naas in January in a contest that has worked out very well, with the runner-up scoring twice since and finishing second in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham. Sets an exacting standard for the newcomers.
Fruits of Love gelding who was pulled up on only start in point-to-point last month and is likely best watched for this rules bow given the potential in this field.

This €15,000 3-y-o, Soldier Hollow gelding represents the champion trainer but will need to be well above average to score on debut.

Good second at Leopardstown last month on heavy ground on debut, should progress and go well again though this may be a strong race.
Really struggled in two bumpers runs so far and the filly is likely in for another tough afternoon here.
Flemensfirth filly cost a tasty €85,000 in the ring and is nicely related to multiple winners. Trainer no stranger to having one ready to go, she's worth a look in the betting at worst.

Has cut little ice in two goes at this game, latest at Down Royal on St Patrick's Day, this looks a tougher test and likely to find a few of these too classy.

Forecasts

Red Jack (11/8), Dorydalis (5/1), Special Ted (11/2), Lesley Dawn (6/1), Dinons (8/1), Us And Them (12/1), Commandant (16/1), Dix De Der (28/1), Pendale (66/1), Ballybrowney Walk (66/1), Rosserk Abbey (66/1)

Verdict

Some interesting newcomers in the line-up and so the market is certain to prove an invaluable aid when assessing this contest. The Elliott trio of Commandant, Dinons and Dorydalis all make appeal on paper with perhaps the last-named boasting clearest credentials on jockey bookings. Lesley Dawn comes here with hope and her colours have been carried to regular success in Britain and Ireland lately while Special Ted represent the Closutton bumper production line. Us And Them should come on from a debut second at Leopardstown but the outstanding candidate on form is RED JACK, who won at Naas in January. Debuchet was second there and has won two bumpers since, either side of being agonisingly gunned down at Cheltenham by the flying filly Fayonagh. Now racing in the McManus hoops, Red Jack looks to have a decent future ahead and can double up in the finale.
  1. Red Jack
  2. Lesley Dawn
  3. Dorydalis
