Out of her depth behind Vroum Vroum Mag at Doncaster in January, but otherwise she has been a useful and consistent performer who has earned top weight. Vulnerable off her handicap mark, however.
Winner of two of her four starts over hurdles, she seems to handle most types of ground. Won easily at Uttoxeter last time and may be on the upgrade.
Has won once and been placed five times in nine starts over hurdles. Consistent, but holds no secrets from the handicapper.
Solid and reliable sort who has done little wrong throughout the winter. She has done almost all of her racing with give in the ground, so a sounder surface would provide a question to answer.
Last win came in March, 2016, but she has been coming down the handicap and the better ground she is likely to get should be a help. An interesting runner from a shrewd stable.
Having her first run for a year when landing some nice bets in a qualifier for this race at Ludlow last month. Up 6lb for that, and sporting cheekpieces for the first time, she is of major interest if in the same mood.
Beaten just over 3L by Secret Door last time and must be respected given her 7lb pull in the weights. The winner that day looked to have extra in hand, but a first-time tongue tie for this one could produce improvement.
Successful in a qualifier for this race at Newcastle in February, she has been beaten in two subsequent starts and the handicapper may have caught up with her.
Has failed to get her head in front since winning at Catterick in March, last year, and first-time blinkers will need to spark a significant reaction if she is to figure.
Gets a 14lb pull in the weights with Poppy Kay for a beating of just over 13L at Uttoxeter last time. Has raced only on soft or heavy over hurdles and drier ground may well help.
Has been running with credit in handicap hurdles, but does not looks particularly well treated and needs to find more on ground which is expected to ride faster than she is used to.
Forecasts
Secret Door (3/1), Awesome Rosie (11/2), Poppy Kay (13/2), Late Night Lily (7/1), Toberdowney (7/1), Culture De Sivola (17/2), Midtech Valentine (10/1), Lagavara (12/1), Fille Des Champs (20/1), Mo Chailin (20/1), Beyondtemptation (40/1)
SECRET DOOR won with plenty in hand on her reappearance and, granted normal improvement, looks the most likely winner. Midtech Valentine could chase her home again, while at the lower end of the handicap, Lagavara appeals as an each-way selection.
- Secret Door
- Midtech Valentine
- Lagavara
