Plenty of promise in recent Leopardstown debut fourth for this son of Born To Sea out of a full sister to the high class Holy Roman Emperor. Should improve and expected to be a very much on the premises.
Never competitive on Leopardstown debut last week but should have learned from the experience. Not written off, but may need more time.
Mid-division finisher on Naas debut in very testing ground and should find today's surface more to his liking. Bred to stay so may need further and do better once handicapped.
Pivotal colt related to a number of winners. Promising fifth in big field at Naas on debut last month and one of the more likely types today on that evidence.
Lope de Vega colt making his racecourse bow here. Dam was useful, finishing third in the Irish Oaks, and pedigree suggests he may be best over middle distances. Market may be prove a reliable guide to expectations.
Not beaten far when sixth in modest event on only outing as a juvenile. Gelded since and should prove capable of winning a race once achieving a handicap mark.
Makes his debut today. Pedigree suggests this Lawman gelding will need further in time and he makes little appeal unless market indicates otherwise.
Weakened over 6f recently at Kempton and step up in trip doesn't look an obvious solution. Has shown signs of ability but needs to step up significantly on what he's done so far.
Weakened quickly over a furlong out on racecourse bow here recently but should have learned plenty from that experience. More needed though and others make greater appeal.
100/1 and beaten out of sight on debut at this track. Tongue-tie applied today suggesting he may have had a breathing issue but is very hard to recommend on what we've seen so far.
70,000 gns Lope de Vega gelding makes his debut for top stable. Plenty of stamina on the dam's side so should stay and looks one for the short list in a run of the mill event.
Didn't show a huge amount of promise on only start as a juvenile and has subsequently been gelded. Very hard to make a case for on this occasion.
Represents strong stable and has run better than finishing positions indicate on two starts so far, staying on steadily on each occasion. Might be better once handicapped, but not ruled out in this company.
Racecourse debut today for this daughter of US sire War of Light. May have been showing something at home and holds entry in Irish 1000 Guineas. Top trainer always warrants respect.
Daughter of Intense Focus having her first start here. Bred to be decent with dam related to the great Goldikova. Any market interest would be worthy of note.
Maiden who has shown modest form in three starts so far on the AW. Step up in trip should help, but official mark of 53 indicates this should be too hot to handle.
Sire did well with first crop last term and has shown hints of ability on two starts to date. Unlikley to be involved at the business end of the race today however.
Represents top yard and holds entries in both the Irish 1000 Guineas and Irish Oaks. Nicely bred dauighter of Fastnet Rock who ran green on only start at two. Should do better this term and rates a serious contender
Forecasts
Born To Play (11/4), Muzbid (10/3), Gold Spinner (4/1), Famous Pearl (6/1), Ruby Quest (6/1), Haroon (9/1), Wimbourne (20/1), High Altitude (33/1), Lucky Ellen (40/1), Ilikehim (66/1), Fuaran (66/1), Twin Star (100/1), Discovery Lad (100/1), Imbucato (100/1), Mujaafy (100/1), Killala (100/1), Musk Mallow (100/1), Erquy (100/1)
More quantity than quality in this opener but there should be better to come from Aidan O'Brien's Ruby Quest, who ran green on her debut last backend. She will have to improve though to get the better of BORN TO PLAY who very much caught the eye with a promising fourth on his racecourse bow at Leopardstown last week. The Aga Khan's homebred Haroon and Dermot Weld's Muzbid are both bred to win a race, a comment that also aplpies to Ger Lyons' Gold Spinner, another to shape with promise on debut.
- Born To Play
- Haroon
- Ruby Quest
